摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide for a fuel cell stack assembly including stack end cells that facilitate improved diagnostic and detection capabilities. In certain embodiments, an anode side of a FC stack end cell consistent with embodiments disclosed herein may be configured to have a lower anode gas flow rate than other cells in the FC stack. The cathode side of a FC stack end cell consistent with embodiments disclosed herein may be further configured to have a higher gas flow rate than other cells in the FC stack. Embodiments of the disclosed FC stack end cells may, among other things, allow for detection of adverse conditions and/or events in a FC stack assembly prior to such conditions and/or events negatively affecting other cells in the FC stack.

摘要: Systems and methods for detecting and validating a leak in a fuel cell system are presented. In certain embodiments, various fuel cell stack set points may be adjusted such that adequate H2 flow data may be obtained to identify and validate an H2 leak and/or a location of such a leak. In some embodiments, H2 flow data may be obtained by adjusting certain fuel cell system operating parameters under a variety of operating conditions and/or modes and measuring flow data under such various operational conditions.

摘要: A method for performing one or more proactive remedial actions to prevent anode flow-field flooding in an anode side of a fuel cell stack at low stack current density. The method includes identifying one or more trigger conditions that could cause the anode flow-field to flood with water, and performing the one or more proactive remedial actions in response to the identified trigger conditions that removes water from the anode side flow-field prior to the anode flooding occurring.

摘要: Apparatus, methods, and systems for estimating hydrogen concentration and/or pressure in an anode compartment of a fuel cell stack in a fuel cell vehicle. In some implementations, the estimates are based on a correlation between a transient dip in voltage in response to an anode to cathode bleed event and a concentration of hydrogen in the anode compartment of a fuel cell stack. Some implementations may comprise initiating a bleed event, sensing a transient dip in voltage in response to the bleed event, and using the correlation to calculate an estimate of a concentration and/or pressure of the gas in the anode compartment. The sensitivity of the correlation and hence the accuracy of estimation may change with the power level and may be accounted for in the correlation.
