摘要: A system for automatically controlling the speed of a battery powered electric propulsion motor driving a shaft connected to a propeller located on a sailing vessel. The system includes a user interface for selecting either a neutral, a regeneration or a forward thrust operating mode. The system also includes a controller configured to receive input from a motor speed sensor and a motor current sensor. The controller adjust the speed of the motor to the correct motor speed. The controller is configured so that in the neutral mode the correct motor speed is the speed required to substantially eliminate thrust on the shaft.

摘要: The disclosed power system may comprise first and second batteries; an electrical power generator; an electrical load powered by at least one of the first battery, the second battery or the electrical power generator; a converter; and a battery management controller. The converter is connected to both the first and second batteries and configured to operate in a neutral mode, a first battery charging mode, or a second battery charging mode. The converter is configured to create a voltage difference between the first and second batteries in the charging modes. The battery management controller is configured to monitor the voltage of the first battery and the voltage of the second battery and/or to monitor current flow to and from the first and second batteries. The controller controls operation of the converter to operate in the neutral mode, the first battery charging mode or the second battery charging mode.

摘要: A power distribution system comprises a DC bus supplied by an electrical generator and a resistive load connected to the DC bus. A switching device connects to the DC bus and the load and is configured to periodically open the circuit between the resistive load and the DC bus for a reoccurring period of time. The switching device senses the load on the DC bus and changes the length of the period of time based on the sensed voltage.

摘要: A climate control system is configured to provide at least one of heating and cooling of air in an occupied space of a vehicle. The system includes a thermal energy storage device configured to receive heat from a waste heat source in the vehicle and a heat exchanger coupled between the thermal energy storage device and the occupied space of the vehicle by a coolant loop. The second heat exchanger is configured to transfer heat from at least one of the thermal energy storage device to the occupied space of the vehicle and the occupied space in the vehicle to the thermal energy storage device.

摘要: An electric power generation system including an engine, an electrical generator, and a system controller. The engine is configured to produce mechanical power and includes an engine controller and a turbocharger for raising air pressure to a boost pressure. The turbocharger is controlled by the engine controller during steady state operation of the system. The electrical generator is mechanically connected to the engine and converts mechanical power into electrical power. The system controller is configured to receive a signal indicative of an electrical load on the generator. During a transient condition during which the electrical load increases, the system controller is configured to directly control the turbocharger in order to change the configuration of the turbocharger in order to increase boost pressure.
