Abstract:
An in-progress call can be manipulated such that user devices in proximity to the in-progress call, but not initially part of the call, are enabled to join the in-progress call. Determining that a user device is in proximity to an in-progress call may include detection, by the user device, of an in-progress call. Alternatively, or in addition, a communication device involved in the in-progress call may detect a user device and query the user device as to whether it has permissions to join the in-progress call and, if so, whether it wants to join the in-progress call.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for identifying unique points in communication processing for substituting and restoring identities associated with the communication. These specific replacements facilitate communication requests to-and-from external identities to be treated similar to communication requests to-and-from enterprise users, thereby allowing enterprise users to access enterprise-based communication preferences and services via non-enterprise devices.

Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for taking a pluggable extension and applying it to a unique set of a user population to handle their preferred and user-centric alerting relationships. More particularly, the pluggable extension allows a user to have their personalized contact resolution algorithm applied by a server to calls initiated by them or directed toward. The contact resolution algorithm is pluggable to any server and does not need to be built into the server itself. Moreover, multiple users can refer to and use the same pluggable contact resolution algorithm.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for preserving connections, especially in a SIP environment. More specifically, the connection preservation techniques presented in this document enhance the RFC 4028-based session refresh approach in order to provide media connection preservation for calls that experience end-to-end signaling loss or refresh failures. Specifically, participants on a call can continue to exchange media despite the loss of control at the SIP signaling plane.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for enhancing the functionality of a communication device, such as a communication endpoint. This provides the ability to enhance less intelligent SIP endpoints with required features to support a richer user experience. Furthermore, the endpoint enhancer may be dynamically pluggable onto an existing network device. This provided pluggability allows a network administrator to add a new SEE template to the network without disrupting the network operation or the operation of previously existing SEEs.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for marking one or more entities of a call as internal/external such that certain call features can be invoked by servers and other devices residing behind a gateway. More specifically, entities of a call can be marked as internal/external based employing an assessment algorithm to determine whether the calling endpoint is an internal or external endpoint and/or whether a user of the calling or answering endpoint is an internal or external user. Once this determination is made, the call can be marked accordingly such that the appropriate features can be invoked.
