Abstract:
Cookie derivatives and methods for generating cookie derivatives are provided. A cookie derivative comprises a transformation of at least one portion of data associated with a cookie (e.g., a name and/or data value). The cookie derivative may comprise a persistent or non-persistent cookie derivative that may be stored on a user's computing device (e.g., within a browser). The cookie derivative may alternatively comprise a virtual cookie derivative that is stored on a server (e.g., in a log file, a cache, or other data storage of the server).
Abstract:
A controller for an LCD display is described. The controller can control an LED backlight that includes an array of LED lighting elements and an LCD panel that includes a number of pixels. The controller can modulate an individual or groups of the lighting elements in the LED backlight, such as dimming lighting elements, to control a light-field emitted from the LED backlight. The modulation of the lighting elements, such as dimming, can improve image contrast ratios that are generated using the LCD display. Methods and apparatus are described that can simplify calculations used to determine 1) the light-field generated by the LED backlight and 2) a correction factor for adjusting pixel data. The correction factor can be used to adjust an amount of light transmitted by each pixel in the LCD panel to compensate for the backlight producing a light-field that is brighter in some areas and dimmer in other areas.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a backlight controller for a zoned backlight display includes a processor having a brightness value output. The processor is configured to provide a brightness value for at least one brightness zone of the display based on a target brightness value for the at least one zone, a past brightness value of the at least one zone, and a brightness time response.
Abstract:
The invention relates to determining the image content of an incoming bitstream such that various image improvement effects may be accomplished. The invention provides for determining a realness value of an image formed of a plurality of pixels each having associated pixel data by evaluating a spatial distribution of luminance values of the image. Realness values are first determined for subregions of an image frame through an analysis of a luminance histogram generated for each subregion. Subsequently, the subregion realness values are analyzed to generate a total realness value for the image frame and to classify the image content of the image frame.
Abstract:
The invention provides for automatically identifying the location of a displayed video window based upon a characterization of selected portions of the image for realness based upon a distribution of luminance values for the selected portions. The image is then searched mathematically for a large rectangle of realness, and if found, a similar operation is performed in a smaller rectangle around each of the edges of the large rectangle, in turn, zooming in to a resolution of one pixel, thus identifying the position of the edge. This process can be repeated as often as necessary in order to maintain a fix on the edges of the video window.

Abstract:
A modular oven, such as a batch process oven, includes a standardized set of self supporting, interconnectable panels which, when assembled, from a self-supporting heat containment shell, free of added structural support members. The present invention is also directed at self-supporting modular oven panels and a method of assembling the panels such as in the expansion or conversion of a first modular oven assembly to a second assembly more conducive to current production requirements.

A modular oven, such as a batch process oven, having a standardized set of self supporting, interconnectable panels which, when assembled, from a self-supporting heat containment shell, free of added structural support members. Also described are the self-supporting modular oven panels themselves having common roof, sidewall and end wall shell configuration and a method of assembling the panels such as in the expansion or conversion of a first modular oven assembly to a second assembly more conducive to current production requirements.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and system for determining a horizontal resolution and a phase of an analog video signal arranged to display a number of scan lines each formed of a number of pixels is described. A number of initialization values are set where at least one of the initialization values is a current horizontal resolution and then a difference value for each immediately adjacent ones of the pixels is determined. Next, an edge flag value based upon the difference value is stored in at least one of a number of accumulators such that when at least one of the accumulators has a stored edge flag value that is substantially greater than those stored edge flag values in the other accumulators, then the horizontal resolution is set to the current resolution.
Abstract:
