    摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device has improved adhesion between a tape carrier package and a liquid crystal panel and the LCD device includes an organic insulating layer for increasing the aperture ratio. The LCD includes electrode pads provided on a substrate, semiconductor patterns for preventing etching of the portions of the gate insulating layer that are in contact with the electrode pads, and transparent electrodes for protecting the electrode pads and in contact with the semiconductor patterns. The LCD eliminates the organic protective layer positioned around the pads, thereby strengthening the adhesion between the liquid crystal panel and the TCP.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display and a method of fabricating the same is capable of strengthening adhesion between a sealant and a lower plate in a panel with a high aperture ratio to which an organic protective film is applied. The organic protective film and a gate insulating film are patterned in such a manner that the sealant comes into contact with a substrate directly. Accordingly, the organic protective film or the gate insulating film at the area coated with the sealant is partially or entirely removed to directly contact the sealant with the gate insulating film or the lower glass, thereby strengthening the adhesion between the sealant and the lower plate.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device with a repair structure that facilitates repair of a short circuit or an open circuit. In the device, a gate line is formed on an insulating substrate and a gate electrode is integral to the gate line. A semiconductor layer is formed on the gate electrode with having an insulating film therebetween. A data line is crossed with the gate electrode, and a source electrode is integral to the data line on the semiconductor layer and the gate electrode. A drain electrode is spaced oppositely the source electrode. A protective film has a first contact hole at the drain electrode. A pixel electrode is formed on the protective film and is connected, via the contact hole, to the drain electrode. The pixel electrode has an area overlapped partially with the data line and is spaced from the gate line by a desired length (α) at one or more corners thereof. A storage electrode extends from the pixel electrode to be overlapped partially with the gate line and is spaced from the data line by a desired width (δ) at one or more corners thereof.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device and a fabricating method thereof wherein an adhesive force between a seal and a lower plate is improved upon bonding of an upper plate to the lower plate. In high aperture liquid crystal display panels, organic protective films are used to reduce dielectric constants. However, the seal, used when bonding the upper and lower plates of the liquid crystal panel, generally do not adhere well to organic materials. In this invention, holes are generated in the organic protective film so that the seal bonds with inorganic materials such as the lower glass plate or the gate insulating film. A method is also presented to precisely control the amount of the gate insulating film to be etched using the EPD window technique.
