    摘要： A process for the continuous production of superabsorbent polymers, characterised in that aqueous emulsions of uncross-linked and cross-linked polyacrylonitrile homopolymers and/or copolymers, the polyacrylonitrile concentrations in the reaction mixture being from 10 to 45 w.t. %, are hydrolysed with aqueous alkali hydroxide solutions at 50.degree. to 100.degree. C. in a continuously operating reactor suitable for carrying out highly viscous reactions, and that from the highly viscous gels formed the products in the form of superabsorbent powders are continuously precipitated by means of continuous precipitation using low-boiling monoalcohols, and the use thereof in sanitary articles, as water-storing materials in agriculture or for sheathing electrical cables.

    摘要： The new copolymers based on maleic anhydride and .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated compounds contain, as bivalent structural units,A: 20 to 95 mole % of the structural element ##STR1## B: 0 to 40 mole % of the structural element ##STR2## C: and 0 to 40 mole % of the structural element ##STR3## the sum of the mole percents of (A), (B) and (C) being 100, and wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and denote hydrogen, alkyl, optionally substituted aryl or the ester group ##STR4## in which R.sup.4 represents alkyl with 1 to 20 carbon atoms,R.sup.3 denotes an alkyl, cycloalkyl or optionally substituted aryl radical with 1 to 20 carbon atoms andX and Y are identical or different and represent the group--O--R.sup.5in whichR.sup.5 denotes hydrogen, a cation or alkyl with 1 to 40 carbon atoms, orX and Y represent the group--NHR.sup.3in which R.sup.3 has the abovementioned meaning,at least one of the radicals X and Y representing the group --O--R.sup.5, and at least one of the radicals in the radicals X and Y containing at least 18 carbon atoms.The new copolymers can be prepared by reacting alternating copolymers of maleic anhydride and .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated compounds with monoalcohols and monoamines.     摘要： The present invention relates to new copolymers based on maleic anhydride/.alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated compounds and characterized in that they consist of(A) 10 to 40 mol percent of the structural element ##STR1## (B) 40 to 80 mol percent of the structural element ##STR2## and (C) 10 to 50 mol percent of the structural element ##STR3## where the total of mol percentages of (A), (B) and (C) is 100 and whereR.sub.1 =hydrogen or alkyl,R.sub.2 =hydrogen, alkyl or optionally substituted aryl,R.sub.3 =a hydrocarbon radical having 10 to 22 C atoms,R.sub.4 =a hydrocarbon radical having 10 to 22 C atoms, andX=an oxygen atom or an NR.sub.5 group where R.sub.5 represents a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 18 C atoms.The copolymers in question are excellent active ingredients for sizing agents for paper and are suitable not only for pulp-sizing but also for surface-sizing.

    摘要： An improved process for the production of powders of maleic acid anhydride/1-olefin copolymers by suspension polymerization in the presence of special dispersion agents which are obtained by the reaction of a copolymer of maleic acid anhydride and a 1-olefin with an aliphatic monohydric alcohol or an aliphatic monoamine or a mixture thereof, at least 30 mol % of the anhydride groups being esterified to semi-esters or amidated to semi-amides. The copolymer powders obtained have a surprisingly narrowparticle size distribution and can be used without grinding or sifting as reactive fillers for natural and synthetic rubbers. They also can be used for the production of paper coating agents as they dissolve easily and without residue in alkalis, ammonia or amines.
