Abstract: Embodiments of this application relate to the field of communications technologies, and provide an encoding and decoding method and apparatus, to reduce encoding/decoding complexity and improve encoding/decoding performance. In the method, a transmit device may obtain N to-be-encoded vectors. The transmit device may encode the N to-be-encoded vectors based on a polar code kernel matrix, to obtain N temporary code blocks. The transmit device may respectively perform a mask operation on target bit sequences in an (n+1)th temporary code block to an (n+M)th temporary code block and a source bit sequence segment of an nth temporary code block, to obtain M mask bit sequences. The transmit device may respectively encode the M mask bit sequences based on the polar kernel matrix, to obtain M encoded mask bit sequences. The transmit device may sum the M encoded mask bit sequences and M temporary code blocks, to obtain M first code blocks.

Abstract: A communication method and apparatus are disclosed. According to the communication method, corresponding PDCP entities of a first terminal and a second terminal use consistent input parameters when executing security algorithms, thereby ensuring normal communication on a sidelink (SL) and improving communication reliability. In an example embodiment, a first terminal determines a logical channel identifier (LCID) meeting a preset condition, where a first packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity of the first terminal is associated with two or more logical channels (LCHs); the first terminal receives a first data packet from a second terminal; and the first PDCP entity of the first terminal parses the first data packet based on the LCID.

The method includes: A first terminal apparatus determines that a TB transmitted in a first HARQ process is a first TB transmitted for the last time or a newly transmitted TB; and stops a first timer. The second terminal apparatus receives the first indication information, and stops a second timer based on the first indication information.

Abstract: This application provides a handover method and apparatus in satellite communications. The handover method in satellite communications in this application includes: obtaining, by a terminal device, ephemeris information of first satellite base stations, where the first satellite base stations are satellite base stations that cover the terminal device; determining, by the terminal device based on the ephemeris information, a destination satellite base station to which the terminal device needs to hand over; determining, by the terminal device based on the determined destination satellite base station, a first time at which the terminal device is to hand over to the destination satellite base station; and handing over, by the terminal device based on the determined first time, to a destination cell served by the destination satellite base station. This application reduces power consumption of the terminal device, saves air interface resources, and further avoids a signaling storm caused because a large quantity of terminal devices report measurement information at the same moment, thereby increasing a handover success rate.

Abstract: A low density parity check (LDPC) channel encoding method is used in a wireless communications system. A communication device encodes an input bit sequence by using an LDPC matrix, to obtain an encoded bit sequence for transmission. The LDPC matrix is obtained based on a lifting factor Z and a base matrix. The base matrix may be one of eight exemplary designs. The encoding method can be used in various communications systems including fifth generation (5G) telecommunication systems, and can support various encoding requirements for information bit sequences with different code lengths.

Abstract: A communication method and apparatus is provided so that a fading channel can implement a good error correction capability. This helps improve information transmission reliability. The method includes: a transmit end device determines, based on N bit sets, a first sequence and a second sequence that are obtained through quadrature amplitude modulation QAM. The first sequence includes N in-phase components, and the second sequence includes N quadrature components; or the first sequence includes N quadrature components, and the second sequence includes N in-phase components, where N is an integer greater than or equal to 2. Then, the transmit end device performs interleaving processing on the first sequence, to obtain a third sequence. Then, the transmit end device sends, to a receive end device, a symbol sequence determined based on the second sequence and the third sequence. The symbol sequence includes N QAM symbols.
