Abstract: Ice making appliances and methods for making ice using a machine-readable ice cube mold are provided herein. The ice making appliances and methods of making ice may include obtaining ice mold identifier data from the ice mold. Ice mold identifier may be used to acquire operating parameters of the ice making appliance specific to that ice mold from an external communication network. The operating parameters may be used to adjust operation of the appliance, such as the volume of water to dispense for that particular mold.

Abstract: A door assembly for providing selective access to a chamber of an appliance includes a plurality of frame members that are joined quickly and easily using a plurality of interlocking joints. Specifically, a first frame member defines an alignment recess that is defined at least in part by a front locating surface and is configured for receiving a locking protrusion defined on a second frame member. A mechanical fastener urges the second frame member toward the first frame member such that a front seating face of the locking protrusion engages the front locating surface, thereby aligning a front and/or side of the second frame member such that it is flush with the first frame member.

Abstract: An oven appliance includes a cabinet defining a cooking chamber to receive items to be cooked. The oven appliance includes a door that rotates between an open and closed position. The oven appliance further includes a door handle including two ends, each end of the door handle including two locator pin. The door handle attaches to a door trim, wherein the outer locator pin on one end of the door handle sets the horizontal and vertical alignment of the door trim and the outer locator pin on the opposite end of the door handle sets the angular alignment of the door trim. The door handle also attaches to a first handle bracket and a second handle bracket. The outer and inner locating pins on one end of the door handle set the vertical and horizontal alignment and the angular alignment of the first handle bracket, respectively. The outer and inner locating pins on the opposite end of the door handle set the vertical and horizontal alignment and the angular alignment of the second handle bracket, respectively.
