摘要: A method including selecting a forward model based on a modeled well structure and including a single modeled acoustic source located in a modeled wellbore and a plurality of modeled acoustic sensors located in a modeled source area, simulating an acoustic signal generated by the single modeled acoustic source and received by each modeled acoustic sensor, calculating phases of the simulated acoustic signals received at each modeled acoustic sensor, obtaining with a principle of reciprocity a plurality of modeled acoustic sources in the modeled source area and a single modeled acoustic sensor in the modeled wellbore, calculating phase delays of the simulated acoustic signals between each modeled acoustic source and the single modeled acoustic sensor, detecting acoustic signals generated by a flow of fluid using acoustic sensors in a wellbore, and processing the acoustic signals using the phase delays to generate a flow likelihood map.

摘要: A method for imaging a downhole formation. The method includes combining the captured images to generate a partial image of the formation, wherein the partial image includes captured images separated by gaps representing portions of the formation not captured with sensors what were disposed downhole. The method includes locating dips in the formation within the partial image and interpolating the partial image using the located dips within the partial image.

摘要: A well tool for use in a wellbore can include a motor for performing a well operation. The well tool can include a switch that is couplable between the motor and a wireline. The switch can be toggleable between (i) a first operational state for providing the power to the motor by coupling the motor to an external power source and (ii) a second operational state for decoupling the motor from the external power source. The well tool can include a motor controller coupled to the switch for toggling the switch between the first operational state and the second operational state in an arrangement configured to impart, on the wireline, multiple current pulses including data encoded in the current pulses according to an encoding scheme.

摘要: A method includes deploying a logging tool in a borehole formed in a subsurface formation, the logging tool having a transmitter and a receiver, wherein a condition that is present during logging comprises at least one of a shape of the borehole is non-circular and the logging tool is off-center within the borehole. The method includes emitting, by the transmitter, a signal into subsurface formation and detecting, by the receiver, a response to the signal being propagated through the subsurface formation. The method includes creating, from the response, a borehole image that includes features in the subsurface formation and correcting the features, wherein correcting the features comprises mapping points of a non-circular shape in the borehole image into a plane substantially perpendicular to an axis of the borehole.

摘要: A method includes deploying a logging tool in a borehole formed in a subsurface formation. The logging tool has a transmitter and a receiver. The method includes emitting, by the transmitter, a signal into subsurface formation. The method includes detecting, by the receiver, a response to the signal being propagated through the subsurface formation. The method includes creating, from the response, a borehole image that includes distorted features representing bedding dips in the subsurface formation. The method includes correcting the distorted features, wherein correcting the distorted features comprises mapping points of a non-circular shape in the borehole image to points on a circular shape.
