摘要: The switching element has a switching layer between a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer. The switching layer includes a charge transfer complex containing an electron donor and an electron acceptor. An insulating layer is provided between the first electrode layer and the switching layer, and contacts the switching layer. The switching layer switches from a high-resistance state to a low-resistance state upon application of a voltage greater than a first threshold value in a first bias direction. Thereafter, the switching layer maintains the low-resistance state when the applied voltage decreases beyond the first threshold value. When the applied voltage becomes not smaller than a second threshold value in a second bias direction or a reverse direction to the first bias direction, the switching layer switches from the low-resistance state to the high-resistance state. Thereafter, the switching layer maintains the high-resistance state when the applied voltage decreases beyond the second threshold value.

摘要: A fryer is provided which, during a standby for cooking, can keep the temperature of a cooking oil slightly lower than a cooking temperature and, during cooking, can quickly raise the oil temperature to the cooking temperature. The fryer also has capabilities of easily performing a heat exchange operation on the cooking oil, preventing degradation of the cooking oil, securing a good kitchen environment and enhancing a work efficiency. The fryer comprises a fryer tank having oil and water for cleaning the oil stored in two layers one upon the other; and a heater installed in the oil layer; wherein the water in the water layer is drawn out from a water suction opening at a bottom of fryer tank, cleaned by a filtering water tank and then delivered into the fryer tank almost horizontally in an off-centered direction from a water supply opening formed in a lower, side wall of the fryer tank, thus rotating the water in the fryer tank in a swirl. The fryer also has a device for discharging impurities collected in the filtering water tank.

摘要: A novel compound, which is effective for treatment of AIDS and has inhibitory activity on human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV), was examined. The K97-0003 peptide, which has anti-HIV activity caused by inhibition of syncytium formation by fusion of envelope glycoprotein of HIV and the host cells expressing the receptor to said virus, was provided by the present invention. Furthermore, the base sequence of the gene coding for said polypeptide, and the method for preparing said polypeptide using strain K97-0003 were provided.

摘要: A micro-display (1) and a condenser lens (2) focusing an image of the micro-display onto retina of human eye are provided within a case (3). Then, a reflected light detecting means (4) for detecting brightness of reflected light reflected by human retina, which comprises a block where a light emitting section (41) and a light receiving section (42) are provided alternately is provided. A location adjusting means for moving, for example, the condenser lens held with coil (51) so that amount detected by this reflected light detecting means, for example, is maximized and adjusting the relation so that the location relationship between the micro-display and the condenser lens is optimized. As a result, a head mounted display can be obtained which is capable of observing without occurring any fatigue of eyes in the case where one has to recognize both of the outside world and the display approximately at the same time.

摘要: In a method of manufacturing an organic EL device, an ITO transparent electrode 11, organic layer 12 and upper electrode 13 are formed in a vacuum on a glass substrate 2. They are sealed in a nitrogen atmosphere by a sealant. Since they can be formed in an environment not exposed to the outside air, it is possible to prevent impurities from being applied to the ITO transparent electrode 11, thereby a highly reliable organic EL device.

摘要: In accordance with one aspect of this invention, in a mechanism for attaching a rotating plate in a helmet, a positioning member which is of substantially tubular shape and relatively slidable along a guide groove provided in the rotating plate such as a shield plate and shaped into a nearly circular arc has an easily bendable portion provided between a first cut and a second cut which are formed in substantially opposed relation to each other at the upper end and the lower end of the positioning member, respectively. In accordance with another aspect of this invention, in a mechanism for attaching a rotating plate in a helmet, the three engaged openings provided in the guide groove so as to keep in the fully closed condition, in the fully opened condition, and in the defrosted condition, respectively, can relatively hold the positioning member to almost remain its original form, and the arcuated groove disposed in the guide groove can relatively hold the positioning member so as to deform it elastically.
