摘要： A low residue antiperspirant and/or deodorant composition in the form of an anhydrous, surfactant-free and antiseptic alcohol-free suspension exhibiting a syneresis of less than 8% which is made by combining selected amounts of: (a) a cyclomethicone (and) dimethicone crosspolymer made with an ≡Si—H containing polysiloxane and an alpha, omega-diene of formula CH2═CH(CH2)xCH═CH2 which crosspolymer has a viscosity in the range of 50,000–3,000,000 centipoise, preferably with a nonvolatiles content of 10–14% in cyclomethicone; (b) polyethylene beads having a density in the range of 0.91–0.98 grams/cm3 and a particle size in the range of 5–40 microns; (c) a volatile silicone; (d) an emollient (or a mixture of two or more emollients) which may include a non-volatile silicone and an additional amount of a volatile silicone; and (e) an effective amount of an antiperspirant active material in an amount sufficient to have an antiperspirant and/or a deodorant effect.

The antiplaque agent is a substantially water-insoluble noncationic antibacterial agent such as 2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxydiphenyl ether (Triclosan). Antiplaque effectiveness is optimized by the presence of an antibacterial-enhancing agent which enhances delivery of said antibacterial agent to, and retention thereof on, oral surfaces.

摘要： An antiplaque oral composition such as a gel, paste or mouthrinse which is comprised of a vehicle having incorporated therein as the antiplaque agent an effective amount of an antibacterial salicylanilide compound and a surfactant mixture of an anionic surfactant, a polyoxyethylene/polyoxypropylene block copolymer and a taurate salt, the pH of the composition being adjusted to a pH of at least 8.0. An antibacterial-enhancing agent such as an anionic polymeric polycarboxylate which enhances the delivery of the salicylanilide compound to and retention on oral tissue surfaces is optionally incorporated in the composition to improve the efficacy of the salicylanilide compound.

摘要： An oral composition dentifrice comprising an orally acceptable vehicle, about 5-30% by weight of a siliceous polishing agent, a substantially water-insoluble noncationic antibacterial antiplaque agent, such as 2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxydiphenyl ether (triclosan), and an antibacterial-enhancing agent which enhances the delivery of said antibacterial agent to, and retention thereof on, oral surfaces, wherein said antiplaque agent is substantially completely dissolved in saliva present during tooth and gum cleaning in a solubilizing agent therefor. The solubilizing agent may be a humectant polyol such as propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol and hexylene glycol; a cellosolve such as methyl cellosolve and ethyl cellosolve; a vegetable oil or wax containing at least about 12 carbon atoms in a straight chain such as olive oil, castor oil and petrolatum; or an ester such as ethyl acetate, amyl acetate, glyceryl tristearate and benzyl benzoate.
