    摘要： A document detection system using a detection result presentation that can facilitate a user's quick comprehension of the relevancy of each detected document. In this system, a user's input for commanding a document detection is analyzed to extract keywords and viewpoints relevant to each keyword contained in the user's input, and a detection command is constructed from the keywords and the viewpoints extracted from the user's input. Then, the detection operation is executed to detect those documents among a plurality of stored documents which match with the constructed detection command as detected documents for a detection result. The detection result can be presented in the multi-dimensional display formed by setting the viewpoints to axes with the detection command as an origin and using distances of the detected documents with respect to the origin for each viewpoint as coordinates of the detected documents with respect to each axis representing each viewpoint.

    摘要： By moving image analysis, acoustic/speech analysis, or text analysis for multimedia information in a database, feature data representing the type of information is acquired, and the feature data is stored into the database added to the multimedia information. A search engine extracts partial images of user's interest from the multimedia information on the basis of the feature data and a user profile data. A link section associates the representative images (still images) of the partial images with multimedia images and displays the list of representative images and feature data. Thus, only a portion of the user's concern is extracted from an enormous amount of multimedia information, and individual information is selectively provided in units of users.

The first and second text memories respectively store an original text and a translated text. The translation dictionary includes a word/idiom dictionary. The control editor controls the respective units, and performs edit processing of at least the translated text. The control editor includes a changing section for changing a translated word in the translated text corresponding to a designated word in the original text to another translated word, and a replacing section for, when the translated word in the translated text corresponding to the designated word in the original text is changed to another translated word by the changing section, providing priority to a translated word in which a translated word portion corresponding to the designated word in the original text is replaced with the other translated word as a translated word corresponding to an entry word including the designated word in the original text in the word/idiom dictionary.
