摘要： A recording apparatus contains a recording head having a liquid droplet ejecting surface and ejecting a liquid droplet to a recording medium, a maintenance device disposed at a position opposite to the liquid droplet ejecting surface of the recording head, and a conveying unit which conveys the recording medium between the recording head and the maintenance device. The maintenance device has a liquid housing unit which houses the liquid droplet from the recording head, and a cleaning unit which cleans the liquid droplet ejecting surface of the recording head.

摘要： A recording apparatus enabling printing with high image quality is to be provided. In a recording apparatus exerting recordation having a non-scanning recording head corresponding to the total width of the paper, a pressing member and a supporting member are disposed among plural recording head units, which are arranged in the width direction of the paper with a prescribed interval, and thus the paper continuously conveyed is pressed with the pressing member onto the supporting member, so as to uniformize the distance between the paper and the nozzle surface at the printing position. As a result, printing can be attained with high image quality on the paper continuously conveyed.

摘要： The present invention provides a maintenance device which can suction ink in a short period of time and with a small amount of consumed ink. The maintenance device has a plurality of capping portions disposed so as to face a plurality of unit heads which can discharge liquid drops onto a recording medium; a plurality of small chambers communicating with the plurality of capping portions, respectively; a suction portion suctioning interiors of the small chambers; and a plurality of valve mechanisms independently controlling airtight states of the interiors of the small chambers. The present invention also provides a recording device equipped with this maintenance device.

摘要： An image forming apparatus for reproducing an image corresponding to a digitized image signal includes; an imaging member; a halftone image forming device for reproducing a latent image composed of a plurality of pixels on the imaging member, and for developing the latent image so that coloring particles are adhered in each pixel being put together as an island, the halftone image including a relatively low density halftone image; and a transfixing device for simultaneously transferring the halftone image and fixing the halftone image onto a recording sheet. The image forming apparatus may further includes an intermediate transfer medium. The island-like toner image reproduces the halftone image clearly.

摘要： An intermediate transfer body to be used in an image forming apparatus for transferring and fixing a toner image from a photosensitive body onto a recording medium using an intermediate transfer body having the surface of a material such as silicone rubber which image forming apparatus reduces the friction coefficient between the photosensitive body and the intermediate transfer body to allow easy driving running control of the intermediate transfer body, and reduces the fog toner transfer rate to prevent deterioration of the image quality when the medium (40 to 70%) gloss is employed, and an image forming apparatus using the intermediate transfer body are provided. The intermediate transfer body, which receives a toner image held on a toner image carrier and transfers again the toner image onto a recording medium to form an image on the recording medium, has the surface for receiving the transfer of a toner image on which the peak area and roughed recess area are formed mixedly.

摘要： An intermediate transfer medium and the like for image formation includes transferring and fixing a toner image from a photoreceptor onto a recording medium such as paper by using the intermediate transfer medium. The intermediate transfer medium can yield a high gloss desirable for color image and the control of the driving run of the intermediate transfer medium can be maintained readily by reducing the frictional coefficient with the photoreceptor and the intermediate transfer medium can reduce the fog toner transfer rate to prevent the deterioration of the resulting image quality. The surface of the intermediate transfer medium where the image is primarily transferred (primary image transfer medium) is of smooth surface with protrusions dispersed thereon in a manner such that the smooth surface and the protrusions might be discriminated from each other. The relation between the area ratio of the smooth surface on the primary image transfer surface [Cin %] and the height of the protrusions [h (.mu.m)] preferably satisfies the following experimental formula (1):h.ltoreq.19.multidot.(1-Cin/100).sup.-1/2 -24.5 (1)

摘要： An image forming method is provided which is structured in such a way that a toner image carried to a transferring position by a toner image holding member for holding and carrying the toner image from a toner image forming position to the toner image transferring position is transferred to a predetermined recording medium. The image forming method includes carrying a toner image into close contact with a recording medium and transferring and fixing the toner image while heating the toner image. A recording medium is employed which has a thermoplastic transparent resin layer on at least a surface of a base thereof on which the toner image is transferred and the softening point (Tmp) of the transparent resin is in the range from 1.degree. C. to 30.degree. C. lower than the softening point (Tmt) of the toner.
