    摘要: An optical node apparatus according to the present invention amplifies a WDM signal light input to an input port, and thereafter, branches the amplified WDM signal light by an optical branching coupler to send the branched lights to first and second optical paths, and selects the light propagated through the first optical path by an optical switch to amplify the selected light by a post-amplifier, thereby outputting the amplified light from an output port, when the optical node apparatus is operated as an optical amplification repeating node. When the operational state is upgraded to an optical add/drop multiplexing node, an OADM section is connected between a set of connecting ports on the second optical path, and the adjustment of the OADM section is performed utilizing the WDM signal light branched by the optical branching coupler, and thereafter, the switching of the optical switch is performed to select the light on the second optical path side. As a result, since the switching the operational state from the optical amplification repeating node to the OADM node can be performed in a short time, it becomes possible to provide the continued communication service at the low initial installation cost.

    摘要: A method for switching a transmission route in an optical network. A regenerator station extracts a main signal, and detects the input level of the main signal. When the input level falls below a threshold, the regenerator station determines that a failure occurs, and stops output of a main signal from the regenerator station, and transmits a control signal indicating occurrence of the failure to a receiver station, which separates the control signal from a main signal transmitted thereto, detects the input level of the main signal at the receiver station, analyzes the separated control signal, and determines whether or not a failure occurs. When the input level of the main signal at the receiver station falls below a threshold, or when the separated control signal indicates occurrence of a failure, the receiver station detects the occurrence of the failure, and switches the transmission route.

With this configuration, it is possible to economically offer an optical cross connect apparatus having an excellent extensibility on a change (particularly, an increase) of the number of wavelengths to be accommodated per port.

    摘要: A specialized communication controller class is used to manage communications in an object oriented programming system. Classes in the system are not designed to communicate directly with each other, and communication between classes is routed by this controller class. As a result, there is no need for each class to keep track of any hierarchical relationship of classes in an application in order to be able to communicate with other classes. Members of the object oriented programming system contain parameter files and can send commands to the controller class. The controller class executes the commands without return result to the senders. Similarly, the controller class can send commands to other class members, and these commands are executed without returning result to the controller class.

A single-association database contains a plurality of records, and each record associates one piece of data with another piece of data. Each database driver contains a parameter file and is designed to perform searches on its associated database. The recipient database driver executes the command without returning result of execution to the sending database driver.
