In an image display according to the present invention, there is provided switching means selecting means (shift register) for selectively inputting a driving signal inputted into the switch driving line into a plurality of switching means (switch matrix); the pixels (display electrodes), signal lines, switching means, decoding means (decoder) and the switching means selecting means are formed on the same substrate; and the transistors constituting the pixels, the switching means, the decoding means and the switching means selecting means are constituted by only channel type transistors of either n-channel or p-channel. The driving circuit can be integrally formed on the substrate together with the pixel transistors.
