    摘要: A digital video signal that has been encoded using motion-compensated prediction, transform encoding, and variable-length coding, is decoded using parallel processing. Frames of the video signal are divided into slices made up of a sequence of macroblocks. The signal to be decoded is slice-wise divided for parallel variable-length decoding. Each variable-length-decoded macroblock is divided into its constituent blocks for parallel inverse transform processing. Resulting blocks of difference data are added in parallel to corresponding blocks of reference data. The blocks of reference data corresponding to each macroblock are read out in parallel from reference data memories on the basis of a motion vector associated with the macroblock. Reference data corresponding to each macroblock is distributed for storage among a number of reference data memories.

    摘要: The present invention generates coded data having always high image quality irrespective of the change amount of a picture. When a difference between two adjacent frames in inputted picture data is calculated as well as a motion vector between the above frames is calculated, and the picture data is encoded based on the difference and the motion vector between the above frames as well as the motion vector is encoded, a scene change in the above picture data is detected based on the difference between the two adjacent frames in the picture data, and the feature quantity of the picture data is calculated. If the above feature quantity exceeds a prescribed threshold value, the number of pixels of the picture data is reduced in a prescribed conversion ratio at the prescribed timing according to the detected scene change. And the picture data and the motion vector are encoded so as to be the amount of generating codes obtained by allotting the amount of signal of the motion vector representing the movement of the picture data reduced based on the picture data reduced in pixel, to the amount of signal of the picture data.

    摘要: In a motion picture recording method, a motion picture recording medium, and a motion picture reproducing apparatus, picture data composed of a plurality of motion pictures is recorded to be time-successively reproduced. The picture data, composed of a plurality of motion pictures, is recorded on a disc recording medium on a spiral recording track on which every motion picture is separately recorded, track unit by track unit, in order. Further, respective picture data is recorded to overlap in the radial direction corresponding to at least the time needed for a one-track-jump. Therefore, a motion picture recording method, a motion picture recording medium, and a motion picture reproducing apparatus are realized, which allow the reproducing state to be switched to the reproducing of the picture data of another motion picture by track-jump, when the picture data of one motion picture is reproduced from the picture data of a plurality of motion pictures, so as to time-successively reproduce between a plurality of motion pictures.
