Abstract: According to one or more aspects, a system for vehicle user interface (UI) management includes an interface component, an operation component, a presentation logic, and a rendering component. The interface component may include a display portion located at a first position and an input portion located at a second position different than the first position. The input portion may receive one or more user inputs and include a touch sensitive portion, a first button, and a second button. The operation component may select one or more modes for a UI based on one or more of the user inputs. The presentation logic may generate one or more objects based on a selected mode and presence information associated with one or more of the user inputs. The rendering component may render one or more of the objects to form a composite image at the display portion.

Abstract: A method and system for providing absolute coordinate mapping using zone mapping input in a vehicle includes determining a touch input received on a touchpad located in the vehicle, presenting an absolute mapped position of the touch input on a display screen located in the vehicle, presenting one or more user interface objects on the display screen, and providing a plurality of display input zones corresponding to one or more user interface objects presented on the display screen. The method and system further include determining a user input to one of the one or more user interface objects presented on the display screen based on the absolute mapped position of the touch input on at least one of the one or more user interface objects presented on the display screen, and the plurality of display input zones on the display screen.

Abstract: A method and system for providing absolute and zone coordinate mapping with graphic animations include presenting a user interface in an inactive state, wherein a background graphic animation and a user interface object graphic animation are presented on the user interface in an inactive format. The method and system also include determining that a touch input is provided on a touchpad to map a selected user interface object presented on the user interface based on an absolute mapped position of the touch input received on the touchpad. The method and system additionally include presenting the user interface in an active state, wherein the background graphic animation and the user interface object graphic animation are presented on the user interface in an active format.

Abstract: A method and system for presenting and manipulating a map user interface include presenting the map user interface in a vehicle tracking mode. The method and system also include changing the map user interface from the vehicle tracking mode to an exploration mode. The method and system additionally include determining a first gesture on the touchpad to pan a scalable map presented on the map user interface at a first speed. The method and system further include determining a second gesture on the touchpad to pan the scalable map presented on the map user interface at a second speed which is faster than the first speed.
