    Abstract: With sidelink reservation signals sent together with the sidelink data, there is the possibility of interference with other sidelink signals. In order to address this, systems and methods are provided in which a first UE transmits a reservation signal to indicate at least one time-frequency resource for transmitting sidelink data. Following this, the first UE transmits at least one sidelink data transmission to a second UE using the at least one time-frequency resource indicated by the reservation signal. The reservation signal is transmitted before the at least one sidelink data transmission signal so that a third UE may detect the reservation signal and use the reservation signal to avoid using the at least one time-frequency resource indicated in the reservation signal.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for early termination of feedback in respect of sidelink transmissions are provided. A first UE transmits at least one sidelink (SL) transmission of a first set of SL transmissions to a second UE, the first set of SL transmissions comprising an initial SL transmission and a set number of SL retransmissions. If no ACK is received, then the first UE transmits the set number of retransmissions. On the other hand, if an ACK is received, then the first UE transmits fewer than the set number of SL retransmissions when an ACK is received from the second UE before the set number of SL retransmissions has been completed. By transmitting fewer than all of the set number of SL retransmissions, resources can be freed up for other purposes. The approach may be used for SL configured grant transmission.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for a frame structure for machine-type communications (MTC) with adjustable pulse bandwidth are described. In an embodiment, the frame structure is an uplink frame structure that illustrates a representation of a plurality of coverage levels. The coverage levels are associated with a coverage range of a base station. Each coverage level is associated with corresponding sub-frames, and each sub-frame within a coverage level has the same sub-frame length and bandwidth.

    Abstract: Longer pilot sequences can be supported by transmitting pilot values of a given pilot sequence over different orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbols of an uplink frame. The pilot values may be contiguous, or non-contiguous, with one another in the time domain. Consecutive pilot values in a pilot sequence may be transmitted in different OFDM symbols of the frame. For example, odd pilot values (e.g., P1, P3, P5 . . . ) in a pilot sequence may be transmitted over a different OFDM symbol than even pilot values (e.g., P2, P4, P6 . . . ) in the pilot sequence. Alternatively, a leading subset of pilot values in a pilot sequence is transmitted over a different OFDM symbol than a trailing subset of pilot values in the pilot sequence.
