    摘要: An electron-beam-pumped laser includes a cathode ray tube containing a laser crystal, an electron gun for producing an electron beam including a multi-element focusing electrode layer on an inner surface of the tube for effecting focusing of the beam on the laser crystal, and a multi-element deflection electrode layer on an inner surface of the tube for effecting scanning of the beam across the laser crystal. The laser crystal is disposed on a metal heat-conductive support which is adapted for accurately positioning the laser crystal in closely spaced relationship with respect to the electron gun and to a laser light emitting window of the tube.

    摘要: A device for optically scanning a surface (2) with a focal spot (11) formed by an objective lens (10). The objective lens is electromagnetically suspended in a stationary coil system (14) comprising a plurality of coil pairs located one behind the other in a given direction. The coil system can move the objective lens in five or six degrees of freedom. A radiation beam is displaced parallel to itself via a pivotal mirror (22) and a scanning lens (23) so as to track the movement of the objective lens in said direction. A communicator (96) drives only those coils of the coil system which are proximate to the objective system at a given moment.

    摘要: An electro-optical apparatus comprising an objective (7) scans an optical disc (3) having a transparent protective layer (5) by means of a radiation beam (10) which, through the transparent layer, is focussed on a reflecting recording surface (4). The objective moves along the optical axis (19) for focussing the radiation beam on the recording layer and moreover performs limited pivotal movements. The position of the optical axis of the objective is corrected for obliquity of the surface of the optical disc, correction means (22A, B) being provided to tilt the objective through a correction angle, so that the angle between the optical axis and the normal to the disc surface is reduced.

    摘要: A device for electromagnetically scanning information tracks on a record carrier, such as an optical tape, via a scanning beam is described. On this tape, information tracks are arranged substantially parallel and substantially transverse to a transport direction of the record carrier. The device is provided with a scanning unit for scanning, with the beam always following parallel scanning paths, and a control system for controlling an angle of the scanning paths with respect to the transport direction, dependent on a tilt signal. According to the invention, the device is provided with angle-measuring means for generating the tilt signal dependent on a tracking error signal which is indicative of a difference between a scanning path and the relevant information track. In addition to a tilt signal, a speed signal may also be derived from the tracking error signal. Both the tilt signal and the speed signal are derived from the tracking error signal in a captured and in a non-captured state of operation.

    摘要: An optical scanning device for scanning a tape-like record carrier. The device includes an optical system for focusing a radiation beam at the record carrier, which radiation beam causes a scanning spot to occur on the record carrier. The device also includes a rotary polygon mirror which causes the scanning spot to be displaced transversely to the direction of the tape with a specific repetition rate. The tape-like record carrier is moved with a certain velocity in the longitudinal direction of the tape relative to the scanning device. In this manner, the record carrier is scanned in accordance with a track pattern formed by a longitudinal path of substantially parallel tracks which have a substantially constant track pitch and a track direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the record carrier. During operation, vibrations occur which cause displacements to occur of the scanning spot over the recording layer transverse to the scanning direction. The relation between velocity and repetition rate is selected such that the amplitude of the displacements of the scanning spot, which displacements have a frequency exceeding the repetition rate, is smaller than the track pitch. As a result, the track pitch throughout the length of the tracks remains substantially constant without use of a controller.
