摘要： A liquid crystal display (“LCD”) module includes a backlight assembly emitting light, a LCD panel overlapping the backlight assembly, and an upper cover. The backlight includes a light source module emitting the light, a light guide plate (“LGP”) including edges and a middle portion, and a LGP support overlapping the edges of the LGP. The LGP support includes a plurality of LGP supporting pieces connected to each other so as to form a polygonal shape, each of the LGP supporting pieces including a LGP supporting portion including a LGP supporting surface overlapping the edges of the LGP, and the LGP supporting surfaces of each of the LGP supporting pieces of the LGP support are placed on a same plane. Opposing LGP supporting pieces are interconnected by an LCD module mounting member.

摘要： A flat-type fluorescent lamp includes a first substrate, a second substrate and an adhesive member. The second substrate corresponds to the first substrate to form a plurality of discharge spaces. The adhesive member is interposed between the first and second substrates to combine the first substrate with the second substrate. The adhesive member includes a protrusion protruding in a longitudinal direction of the discharge spaces. Therefore, luminance uniformity and image display quality are improved.

摘要： A backlight assembly includes a receiving container, a flat fluorescent lamp and a heat generating sheet. The flat fluorescent lamp is received in the receiving container. The flat fluorescent lamp includes a plurality of discharge spaces to generate light. The heat generating sheet is positioned adjacent to the flat fluorescent lamp, for example, under the flat fluorescent lamp, to supply the flat fluorescent lamp with heat. The heat generating sheet corresponds to an effective light emitting region of the flat fluorescent lamp where the light is emitted. As a result, heat is provided to the flat fluorescent lamp, thereby decreasing a time for stabilizing a luminance and improving light emitting characteristics.

摘要： There is provided a lamp fixing holder. A lamp fixing holder for fixes a lamp to a receiving container. The lamp provides a liquid crystal display panel with light. The lamp includes a first portion of a face and a second portion of the face. The light emitted from the first portion of the face advances toward the liquid crystal display panel. The lamp fixing holder comprises a lamp fixing body and a fixing member. The lamp fixing body holds a third portion of the face of the lamp. The second portion includes the third portion. The fixing member fixes the lamp fixing body to the receiving container. The lamp fixing holder according to the present invention fixes the lamp so that the lamp does not sway, while minimizing an amount of light that is shielded by the lamp fixing holder.

摘要： A flat fluorescent lamp includes a first substrate, a second substrate, an external electrode, and a radiating member. The second substrate is combined with the first substrate to form a plurality of discharge spaces. The external electrode is formed on at least one surface of the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the external electrode extends perpendicularly to the discharge spaces. The radiating member is formed on the external electrode and radiates heat generated from the external electrode. Therefore, the heat generated from the flat fluorescent lamp is radiated to outside the flat fluorescent lamp through the radiating member, reducing pinhole formation and generally improving luminance characteristics of the flat fluorescent lamp.

摘要： A flat-type fluorescent lamp includes a lamp body having a plurality of discharge spaces emitting a light, first and second external electrodes formed on upper and lower faces of the lamp body, respectively, a conductive clip electrically connecting the first and second external electrodes, and an insulating member covering and insulating the conductive clip. The conductive clip includes a first contact portion contacting the first external electrode, a second contact portion contacting the second external electrode, and a body portion connecting the first and second contact portions. The insulating member includes a recess into which the body portion is inserted. Thus, an electrical defect such as arc discharge between the receiving container and the external conductors may be prevented.

The planar fluorescent lamp generates planar-light. The bottom chassis receives the planar fluorescent lamp. The mold fixes the planar fluorescent lamp such that a gap is generated between a portion of the mold and the planar fluorescent lamp to absorb impact between the mold and the planar fluorescent lamp. The inverter generates discharge voltages to drive the planar fluorescent lamp.
