This invention pertains to a method for purifying an olefinic feedstock that comprises olefins with 4 carbon atoms and impurities including isobutanal, ethanol, and acetone, where said method comprises a pretreatment that comprises a step for eliminating acetone and optionally a step for eliminating the water that is present in said olefinic feedstock, and a step for simultaneously eliminating isobutanal and ethanol by running the feedstock obtained from the pretreatment over at least one fixed bed having at least one adsorbent that comprises at least one porous refractory oxide-based material, optionally impregnated with one or more alkaline or alkaline-earth cations; where said step for simultaneously eliminating isobutanal and ethanol operates at a temperature of between 0 and 200° C., at a pressure of 0.1 to 10 MPa, and with an hourly volumetric flow rate (VVH) of the feedstock on the fixed bed of between 0.1 and 10 h−1.

The present invention relates to a mass for trapping silicon compounds, comprising a porous alumina-based support and at least one metal chosen from the metals from groups VIB and VIIIB, and exhibiting a grain density of at least 1.20 g/ml, a specific surface of at least 300 m2/g and pores with a mean size of less than 6.5 nm, as determined by mercury porosimetry. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of said trapping mass and to a trapping process using said trapping mass.

A capture mass for heavy metals, in particular mercury, contained in a gaseous or liquid feed, said mass comprising: copper which is present at least in part in the sulphide form, CuxSy, a porous support based on alumina; characterized in that said porous support has a total pore volume (TPV) in the range 0.8 to 1.5 cm3/g, a mesopore volume (V6 nm-100 nm) in the range 0.5 to 1.3 cm3/g, and a macropore volume (V100 nm) in the range 0.33 to 0.45 cm3/g, it being understood that the ratio between the mesopore volume and the macropore volume (V6 nm-100 nm/V100 nm) is in the range 1 to 5.

The present invention relates to an adsorbent comprising an alumina support and at least one alkali element, said adsorbent being obtained by introducing at least one alkali element, identical to or different from sodium, onto an alumina support the sodium content of which, expressed as Na2O equivalent, before the introduction of the alkali element or elements, is comprised between 1000 and 5000 ppm by weight with respect to the total weight of the support. The invention also relates to processes for the preparation of said adsorbent and use thereof in a process for the elimination of acidic molecules such as COS and/or CO2.

The present invention concerns the elimination of heavy metals, in particular mercury and possibly arsenic and lead, present in a dry or moist gaseous effluent (1) by means of a capture mass (2) comprising a porous support at least part of which is of low mesoporosity and an active phase based on sulphur. The invention is advantageously applicable to the treatment of gas of industrial origin, synthesis gas or natural gas.
