    Abstract: A device applies a pre-function to an input signal to obtain an intermediate signal, wherein the pre-function has a linear section part of the input range. The device then applies a LUT including LUT entries that define a linear section and that delimit the range of the intermediate signal that corresponds to the part of the input range, resulting in an output signal that can be linearly processed through the pre-function and the LUT. The device can process a signal with positive and negative values, where one of these lies in the part of the input range that results in linear processing.

    Abstract: Methods, devices and video data for encoding, transmitting and decoding a video content item that is rendered and displayed with the same perceived color per any viewer, a content creator included, on any display. The colors wanted by the content creator are encoded in video data in association with master display information corresponding to the display used by the content creator and with master observer information corresponding to the vision characteristics of the content creator. Reciprocally, at decoder side, user display information and user observer information are collected.     Abstract: An aspect of present principles is directed to methods and systems for gamut mapping source colors into target colors from a source color gamut towards a target color gamut. A difference may be determined source specific colors and corresponding target specific colors. A source hue of the source specific colors is adaptively changed towards a target hue of the corresponding target specific colors based on the difference to determine mapped specific colors. Color gamut mapping is performed for the source colors of the source color gamut towards the target color gamut based on the mapped specific colors. The specific colors are selected from primary colors, secondary colors, a group of primary colors and secondary colors. The difference is based on at least one selected from the group of hue, saturation and lightness of the source specific colors and the corresponding target specific colors.

    Abstract: In a situation where a capturing device is capturing a first image of a scene comprising a display device displaying a second image, a salient idea is to send both the captured first image and the second image, being displayed by the display device to a processing device, for comparatively processing the first and the second image to determine a characteristic associated with the display device. Being able to process the first image (comprising a displayed second image) together with the original second image advantageously allows to determine various characteristics associated with the display device that altered the displayed second image within the first image, making it different from the initial second image.     Abstract: This determination comprises: defining key constant-hue leaves such as to partition the gamut mapping color space into angular hue sectors; for each key constant hue leaf, defining a key hue leaf chroma mapping function; for each angular hue sector, defining a continuous angular hue sector chroma mapping function such that, for any source color belonging to one of the two key constant-hue leaves delimiting this angular hue sector, this continuous chroma mapping function allows to map the chroma of said source color according to the key hue leaf chroma mapping function of the key constant-hue leaf to which said source color belongs. Preferably, this mapping functions are non linear polynomials.
