    Abstract: Embodiments described herein include user equipment (UE), evolved node B (eNB), methods, and systems for narrowband Internet-of-Things (IoT) communications. Some embodiments particularly relate to control channel communications between UE and eNB in narrowband IoT communications. In one embodiment, a UE blind decodes a first control resource block comprising all subcarriers of the transmission bandwidth and all orthogonal frequency division multiplexed symbols of a first subframe to determine the first control transmission. In various further embodiments, various resource groupings of resource elements are used as part of the control communications.

    Abstract: Embodiments relates to a user equipment for wireless communication; the user equipment comprising logic to: allocate a first resource for transmitting a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); process received signalling comprising an indication of an Acknowledgement/Negative Acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) resource mapping mode on the PUSCH; and determine resource elements for transmitting ACK/NACK information based, at least in part, on the first resource block for transmitting the PUSCH and the received ACK/NACK resource mapping mode on the PUSCH; and transmit the ACK/NACK information on the determined resource elements.

    Abstract: Technology for decreasing latency for contention based scheduling request (SR) transmission is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) can process, for transmission to an enhanced node B (eNB), a DeModulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) that is randomly selected from a set of configured DM-RS sequences or configured by the eNB. The UE can select an SR transmission resource as a function of a DM-RS sequence index or cell identification (ID) based on a predefined mapping rule. The UE can process, for transmission to the eNB, a SR message having a buffer status report (BSR) and UE identification (UE-ID) information on the selected SR transmission resource.

    Abstract: Embodiments of an eNB to operate in accordance with a coverage enhancement mode are disclosed herein. The eNB may comprise hardware processing circuitry to, during a legacy sub-frame, transmit a system information block (SIB) in legacy SIB frequency resources according to a legacy SIB transmission format and refrain from transmission of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS). The hardware processing circuitry may be further to, during a first coverage enhancement sub-frame, transmit a first portion of the SIB in first SIB frequency resources included in the legacy SIB frequency resources. The hardware processing circuitry may be further to, during a first coverage enhancement sub-frame, transmit a first set of CSI-RS in first CSI-RS frequency resources that include at least a portion of the legacy SIB frequency resources.

    Abstract: Technology for a UE configured to perform RSTD measurements for OTDOA positioning is disclosed. The UE can decode a MBSFN subframe configuration information for one or more cells in a plurality of cells. The UE can decode PRS configuration information for one or more cells in the plurality of cells. The UE can determine, for the one or more cells in the plurality of cells, an existence of a CRS for selected subframes of a plurality of subframes based on the MBSFN subframe configuration information. The UE can determine for the one or more cells in the plurality of cells, an existence of a PRS for selected subframes of the plurality of subframes based on the PRS configuration information. The UE can measure the RSTD for the one or more cells in the plurality of cells using the CRS and the PRS.

    Abstract: Devices, methods, user equipment (UE), evolved node B (eNB), and storage media are described suitable for coexistence operations for uplink communications on multiple unlicensed carriers. Various embodiments are implemented in LTE systems with license-assisted access (LAA) associated communications. In one embodiment, a UE processes one or more uplink grants from an eNB scheduling transmissions on multiple unlicensed carriers at a first time, and indicating a first channel access procedure. The UE then selects a first unlicensed carrier and performs the first channel access procedure, and performs a second channel access procedure on a second unlicensed carrier of the multiple unlicensed carriers.
