摘要: A method of performing an ophthalmic test on an examinee's eyes utilizes a three-dimensional display screen that includes a right-eye image and a left-eye image to induce ocular responses in the examinee's eyes. The right and left-eye images are varied while detection devices are used to monitor the examinee's eyes ocular responses to the variations. The induced ocular responses of the examinee's eyes are then used to diagnose any ocular, mental or neurological conditions present. The ocular response inducing images are preferably included in a three-dimensional video game such that a players' performance while playing the game will be indicative of any disorders that may be present.

摘要: An ocular system for detecting ocular abnormalities and conditions creates photorefractive digital images of a patient's retinal reflex. The system includes a computer control system, a two-dimensional array of infrared irradiation sources and a digital infrared image sensor. The amount of light provided by the array of irradiation sources is adjusted by the computer so that ocular signals from the image sensor are within a targeted range. Enhanced, adaptive, photorefraction is used to observe and measure the optical effects of Keratoconus. Multiple near infrared (NIR) sources are preferably used with the photorefractive configuration to quantitatively characterize the aberrations of the eye. The infrared light is invisible to a patient and makes the procedure more comfortable than current ocular examinations. A lens system is used to remove any low order aberrations present in the patient's eye and improve the detection sensitivity of the system.

摘要: A digital eye data bank contains digital eye information concerning a plurality of different eyes in the form of schematic eve models. Each model contains a quantitative and qualitative description of the optical performance of a human eye that can be used to simulate the eye's optical performance. Each schematic eye model is associated with at least one of an age, race, gender, geographic residence, or medical diagnosis of a group of individuals. The digital eye data bank also contains personal information such as body height, weight, education background, and physical, chemical, and mental status that may correspond to an eye condition associated with the eye model. The digital eye data bank is used to evaluate the performance of ocular instruments through computer simulation and predict a measurement outcome among a population of subjects.
