    Abstract: A display device includes a light-emitting element layer that emits light with a luminance controlled for each of a plurality of unit pixels constituting an image, and a sealing layer provided on the light-emitting element layer and including a plurality of layers. The plurality of layers of the sealing layer includes at least an inorganic layer provided on the light-emitting element layer, an organic layer provided on the inorganic layer, and an inorganic layer that is an uppermost layer. A density of the inorganic layer that is the uppermost layer in a thickness direction changes in the thickness direction.

    Abstract: Provided is a highly reliable organic EL display device. The organic EL display device includes a first insulating layer; and a display portion provided on the first insulating layer, the display portion including a plurality of pixels. The display portion includes a light emitting layer included in organic EL elements included in the plurality of pixels, the light emitting layer being extended in the entirety of, and beyond, the display portion. The organic EL display device further includes a first groove enclosing the display portion as seen in a plan view, the first groove being provided in the first insulating layer at a position below the light emitting layer. A second insulating layer covering the first groove may be provided between the first insulating layer and the light emitting layer.

    Abstract: A light-emitting element layer and an element layer, which includes an anode and a cathode that sandwich the light-emitting element layer, are formed, and a sealing film is formed so as to cover the entire element layer. In the step of forming the sealing film, a first inorganic film is formed on the element layer. An organic film is formed on the first inorganic film. The organic film is ashed by using a foreign substance remaining on the organic film as a mask such that the organic film is left at least immediately below the mask and removed from at least a part of other areas. After the organic film is ashed, a second inorganic film is formed at least on the first inorganic film.

    Abstract: A bank partitions a plurality of pixels and has an opening in each of the plurality of pixels. An organic layer includes a light emitting layer, and covers the bank opening. A first inorganic barrier layer is formed of an inorganic material, and covers the bank and the organic layer. A plurality of organic barrier portions are formed of organic materials, and are disposed on the first inorganic barrier layer. A second inorganic barrier layer is formed of the inorganic material, and covers the first inorganic barrier layer and the plurality of organic barrier portions. A recessed portion is formed on the bank and the first inorganic barrier layer (for example, the recessed portion is formed in an area which covers a contact hole), and a portion of the organic barrier portion is formed in the recessed portion.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, an organic semiconductor device includes a supporting substrate, a plurality of organic EL light emitting elements, a first barrier layer, a flattening layer, and a second barrier layer. The flattening layer exists sporadically and makes gentle in inclination steep elevation change present in the surface of the first barrier layer.
