摘要: A device for testing a home phoneline network alliance performance of a local network is disclosed. The device includes a first network interface, a second network interface, a test module, and a processor. The first network interface is adapted to connect with the local network through a first type of cable. The second network interface is adapted to connect with the local network through a second type of cable. The test module is connected to the first network interface and to the second network interface, the test module is adapted to receive a test signal transmitted over a cable in the local network. The processor is connected to the test module and is adapted to execute a plurality of program instructions to determine a signal quality for the test signal received over the cable and to output a performance result signal for the cable in the local network based on the signal quality.

摘要: A method for monitoring the effectiveness of an ion exchange module in an ultrapure water purification circuit containing ultrapurified water and having a purified water inlet and a point of use outlet and a memory, the method including the steps of measuring the resistivity of ultrapurified water using one or more sensors to provide an ultrapurified benchmark resistivity value Ri; introducing purified water into the circuit and passing the water through the ion exchange module; measuring the resistivity of the water to provide a new water resistivity value Rnew; and comparing Ri and Rnew to determine the effectiveness of the ion exchange module.

摘要: A method of determining the TOC of a purified water stream is disclosed comprising at least the steps of: passing a supply water stream through a water purification apparatus including an oxidiser to provide a purified water stream, and dispensing at least a portion of the purified water stream; stopping the dispense of the purified water stream and recirculating the purified water stream as a recirculating water stream through at least a portion of the water purification apparatus including the oxidiser to provide a re-oxidised water stream; and measuring the conductivity value of the re-oxidised water stream to determine the TOC of the purified water stream. In this way, a determination of the TOC of the purified water stream of can be provided without requiring a dedicated TOC monitor at the point of dispense of the purified water stream.

摘要: An electrodeionisation apparatus comprising a first deionising flow path and an integral second deionising flow path is described. The outflow from the first path is held in a holding tank prior to passage through the second flow path, and the outflow from the second path is available for use. Optionally, the second path outflow is partly or fully returned to the holding tank. Me recirculation of the already purified water in the holding tank maintains the water in the holding tank at a higher standard than otherwise “standing” purified water. The water in the holding tank could be separately made available for use. The apparatus requires the use of only a single pair of electrodes and hence one power supply. Moreover, the ion exchange materials in the first deionising flow path can be regenerated when water is not flowing through them such that they have a greater capacity for deionisation when required.

摘要: In a process and apparatus for maintaining the efficiency of ammonia oxidation in a nitric acid plant, the ammonia content of the reactant mixture and the nitrogen oxide content of the reaction product are determined by spectrometry, any nitric oxide in the sample of reaction product first being converted to nitrogen dioxide at elevated temperature and pressure. The apparatus comprises delay means for ensuring conversion of the sample of reaction product before analysis. Analysis may be by UV or IR spectrophotometry or by mass spectrography.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a water treatment apparatus having one or more chambers comprising the step of: filling at least one chamber with ion exchanger resin; wherein at least one ion exchanger resin is dry. Preferably, the dry ion exchange resin has a water content of 0-40 wt %, preferably 0-20 wt %, and more preferably 0-10 wt %, such that the volume of the dry ion exchange resin is 25-50 vol % less than the volume of the same ion exchange resin in a moist or wetted form. One form of suitable water treatment apparatus is an EDI apparatus comprising a plurality of chambers to form a stack, for the purification of the water. The present invention provides an easier method of filling of chambers compared with the use of wetted or moist resins, and ‘over filling’ of the cells of water treatment apparatus.
