摘要: Bonded aggregate compositions such as concrete, concrete repair products, high temperature refractories, high temperature insulation and fire resistant insulation are made from an aqueous solution of phosphoric acid and a separate, storable dry mixture of suitable aggregate, monocalcium phosphate, and calcium in the form of calcium aluminate cement or calcium oxide. The proportion of wet to dry constituents is variable so as to select the working time and strength of the aggregate composition, typically on the order of ten to fifteen minutes. The mixture of the preferred dry constituents, and the binder to be mixed with the aggregate to yield the preferred dry mixture, are also disclosed. The binder system is particularly advantageous in that the same set of binder constituents can readily be employed with a variety of aggregates, reducing the cost of providing a variety of aggregate compositions due to the ready availability of the raw materials and obviating the need to stock different binders for different aggregate compositions. Cost is additionally reduced through the use of less purified, and therefore less expensive constituents.

摘要: A method and apparatus for inserting a supporting insert, such as a seat insert (bun) for a vehicle, into a cover, such as a seat cover for a vehicle. The apparatus of the present invention includes a bench upon which a cover holding assembly and a stuffing bracket are provided. The holding assembly comprises four self-adjusting blades which are substantially grouped together at the beginning of the fitting cycle. After an inside-out seat cover's open end is fitted onto the blades, the blades move away from each other into the corners of the cover to expand the cover to its maximum size. The insert is then positioned between the top (closed) end of the covering material and the stuffing bracket. The stuffing bracket then drives the seat insert into the inside-out covering material, gradually turning the material outside-out as the insert is moved forward.

摘要: A casing for forming a rippled meat product includes a generally tubular stockinette fabric integrally knitted with a restrictive structure. The restrictive structure may include one or more helical threads. The differential expansion of the stockinette and the restrictive structure when the casing is stuffed creates a helical bulge in the surface of the meat product. The restrictive structure may include a chain of longitudinal connections that promote a decrease in the longitudinal spacing of the turns of the helical thread in response to the radial expansion of the helical thread during stuffing. Such a restrictive structure also facilitates a method for releasing the casing from the meat product following processing by severing the endmost connection in the chain. Alternatively or in addition, the restrictive structure may include a series of longitudinal jumps that similarly promote a decrease in the longitudinal spacing of the turns of the helical thread in response to the radial expansion of the helical thread during stuffing. The resulting slack or bunching in the stockinette fabric between adjacent turns or circumferential loops of the helical thread allows the meat to bulge outwardly.

摘要: A casing for containment of a proteinaceous product during or following processing is described. The casing has controlled porosity which permits close control of product drying with protein retention, providing good product color and surface texture, patterned and/or shaped products, high protein content and high peelability. The casing is a laminate of a first lamina having high strength and, optionally, surface pattern-producing capability, and a second lamina of controlled porosity which is permeable by vapors and, in most cases, also aqueous and organic liquids, but which is not permeable to solids such as proteins or fats. The laminae are adhered by an adhesive (preferably thermally activated) or by surface interlocking. Accessory materials such as liquid flavorants, colorants, release agents and anti-microbial agents can be incorporated into the laminae and from there imparted to the product. Applicable proteinaceous products include meat, poultry, seafood, soya and cheese.
