摘要: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, and devices which perform automatic selection of an application-layer communication protocol based upon one or more communication characteristics of the sending application and one or more characteristics of the network connection between the sending device and the recipient. The selection of which protocol to use may be made on a message-by-message basis, periodically at various intervals (e.g., every predetermined time period), once upon application initialization, or the like. By dynamically selecting an application-layer communications protocol, an application may leverage the advantages of a specific protocol given the communication characteristics of the application and characteristics of the network connection at that time.

摘要: An invention is provided for generating a shaped reflector. The invention includes receiving required performance data that defines a desired RF performance of a shaped reflector. A mathematical model of the shaped reflector is manipulated to generate a new geometry for the shaped reflector, which is capable of generating the desired RF performance. To ensure the new geometry can be physically duplicated with high precision, the mathematical model is manipulated in a manner that can be duplicated using a plurality of tuners associated with the shaped reflector. Once the new geometry is created, data is outputted that defines alterations to the plurality of tuners needed to generate the new geometry for the shaped reflector.

摘要: A laser metrology system for estimating the deformation of a structure is provided. The system includes a plurality of laser beam position detectors distributed across a surface of the structure. Each laser beam position detector is intersected by a laser beam and is configured to determine the change in location of the intersection point in at least one dimension. By determining the change in location of the intersection point for each laser beam position detector, the laser metrology system can calculate the deformation of the structure that caused these changes in location.

摘要: A hoof plate is provided which is applied to a hoofed animal having a hoof problem, such as laminitis which is characterized by a degeneration of the horny and sensitive laminae in the hoof that causes the coffin bone to drop and rotate, resulting in pain and debilitation of the animal. Other problems treated are split, cracked, shelly and splayed hoofs, and thin hoof walls. The plate is flexible metal plate having a plurality of spaced apertures. If the horse is to be treated shod, a shoe is applied and nails are driven through the hoof wall and the plate apertures and clinched against the plate. Screws are then applied to immovable secure the plate to the hoof. If unshod treatment is used, the plate is just screwed to the hoof. Outward hoof growth is restrained for a period of 8-16 weeks, during which oxygenated blood flow is stimulated to the circumflex artery in the hoof capsule, resulting in laminae regeneration, and growth in the hoof wall, frog, heels and sole. The effects coffin bone re-rotation (where dropped in laminitis) and enables the animal to walk more normally.

摘要: A framework for a deployable antenna is disclosed herein. The framework basically includes a plurality of elongate ribs, a matching plurality of foldable resilient members, and a hub. Each of the elongate ribs has both a proximal end and a distal end. The foldable resilient members serve to interconnect the proximal ends of the elongate ribs to the hub. Within such a configuration, each of the foldable resilient members is capable of storing strain energy whenever forcibly folded and also releasing the strain energy whenever subsequently permitted to elastically unfold. Thus, whenever the elongate ribs are released from a stowed position in which the foldable resilient members are forcibly folded, the strain energy causes automatic deployment of the antenna as the foldable resilient members are permitted to elastically unfold. In sum, therefore, the framework obviates many conventional uses of electro-mechanical motors or actuators in deploying various antennas.

摘要: Systems and methods for exchanging digital content in an online layered hierarchical market and exchange network are disclosed. A Buyer utilizes one or more Curry functions that are relevant to content to be acquired thereby developing a Margin Future estimate for the received content. Each e-market layer in the hierarchy adds value to the content for use with one or more other e-market layers. Value is added by executing a Margin Function including a Curry function on the content, as defined in the Margin Future. An embodiment includes data, information, knowledge, and wisdom (DIKW) e-market layers. The Margin Future estimate may be recorded with an escrow agent acting as an intermediary with Investors. Once funded, the Buyer may acquire the content from the Seller and apply value added. Payment may be made when the value added content enters the e-market using electronic wallets. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
