摘要: Methods and systems for providing cost information for health care services enable, among other things, health care users to make more informed and cost-effective decisions regarding their use of health care services, and/or health care providers to compete against one another on the basis of cost. According to an exemplary embodiment, a method includes: receiving, via a device, a user input requesting cost information for a health care service for a user; and providing, via the device and in response to the user input, a display including one or more health care providers and cost information for each of the one or more health care providers for providing the health care service for the user.

摘要: A console terminal arrangement is disclosed for use in connection with a fault-tolerant computer system including a plurality of processing modules, at least some of the processing modules including an operator input/output interface for receiving operator input from an operator input device and operator display output on an operator display device. The console terminal arrangement facilitates management of all of the processing modules by a single operator from a single location. The arrangement includes a console terminal and a plurality of processing module interfaces interconnected by a network. The console terminal includes an operator input device and an operator display device, and generates operator input messages including processing module management information generated by the operator input device in response to inputs provided by an operator and an address identifying one of the processing modules to be managed by the console terminal. The console terminal further generates and displays video images in response to video image data received in messages from the processing modules. Each processing module interface receives operator input messages generated by the console terminal which include an address identifying the processing module connected to the processing module interface and provide the processing module management information to the operator input/output interface to control the processing module. In addition, each processing module interface receives video information from the associated processing module's operator input output device and generates a message including the video information and an address identifying the console terminal. The network carries messages generated by the console terminal and the processing module interfaces in accordance with the addresses contained in the respective messages.

摘要: The present disclosure describes the identification and use of aptamers and photoaptamers having slower dissociation rate constants than those obtained using previously described methods. Specifically, the present disclosure describes methods for the identification and use of aptamers to one or more targets within a histological or cytological sample, which have slow rates of dissociation. The aptamers may be used to assess localization, relative density, and presence or absence of one or more targets in cytological and histological samples. Targets may be selected that are specific and diagnostic of a given disease state for which the sample was collected. The aptamers may also be used to introduce target specific signal moieties. In addition to target identification, the aptamers may be used to amplify signal generation through a variety of methods.

摘要: Methods and systems for utilizing electronic medical records are operative to track and manage radiation doses provided to patients through various different types of radiation-emitting medical procedures. According to an exemplary embodiment, one such method includes receiving an electronic medical record for a patient, the electronic medical record comprising data indicating a cumulative past amount of radiation exposure for the patient; detecting if the cumulative past amount of radiation exposure for the patient is above a threshold before performing a radiation-emitting medical procedure on the patient; and providing a pre-defined output message in response to detecting that the cumulative past amount of radiation exposure for the patient is above the threshold.

摘要: A product produced by the process of forming an ice glazing within the canopy of broccoli florets to preserve the floret structure and reduce fines loss is disclosed. The process includes the steps of individually freezing the broccoli florets, and immersing the florets in water at a water temperature and for an amount of time sufficient to form an ice glazing within the structure of the floret. The floret is then refrozen. The product has a glazing which preserves the structure of the floret during processing and subsequently handling. A frozen broccoli floret having an ice glazing within the crevices of the floret is also disclosed.
