Abstract: Methods of inhibiting microbes from attaching to a surface and anti-adherent compositions are disclosed. One method can include providing an anti-adherent composition that includes an anti-adherent agent configured to inhibit microbes from attaching to the surface. The anti-adherent agent can be: Acrylates Copolymer, Trimethylpentanediol/Adipic Acid/Glycerin crosspolymer, Trimethylpentanediol/Adipic Acid Copolymer, Ethylhexyl Stearate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Acrylates/C12-22 Alkylmethacrylate Copolymer, Octocrylene, Ethylene Oxide/Propylene Oxide Block Copolymer, Polyquaternium-101, or any combinations thereof. The method can include applying the composition to the surface and allowing at least some of the composition to remain on the surface such that the anti-adherent agent inhibits microbes from attaching to the surface. The anti-adherent composition can include a humectant and can be non-antimicrobial.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to alcohol-based anti-adherent compositions that do not adhere to or attract Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria once it is applied to a surface and dried. The composition may include as anti-adherent agents, hydrophilic film-formers such as cellulosics, gums, acrylates, nonionic polymers, and anionic polymers. Examples of anti-adherent agents include Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, Cellulose gum, Acacia Senegal Gum; Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-11, VP/Dimethyl-aminoethylmethacrylate/Polycarbamyl Polyglycol Ester; Acrylates/Vinyl Neodecanoate Crosspolymer, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Methylcellulose, Propylene Glycol Alginate, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, VP/Polycarbamyl Polyglycol Ester, Acrylates/Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer; Acrylates Copolymer, and any combination thereof. The anti-adherent may be applied to surfaces using a vehicle such as a wipe.

Various delivery vehicles, such as wipes, may be used to deliver the composition to surfaces.

Abstract: Cosmetic emulsions are disclosed that can remain stable even with relatively high salt based cosmetic astringent content. In one aspect, an emulsion can include a water phase including water and a rheology modifier including Microcrystalline Cellulose and Cellulose Gum. The emulsion can also include an oil phase comprising Steareth-2 and Glyceryl Stearate and an emulsifier selected from the group consisting of: Steareth-20, Steareth-21, and combinations thereof. The emulsion can include a salt based cosmetic astringent providing at least about 1.0% of the emulsion by weight.

Abstract: Cosmetic oil-in-water emulsions that can provide a hydrophobic film to protect from excessive hydration are disclosed. In some aspects, a cosmetic oil-in-water emulsion can include water at a concentration of at least about 70% by total weight of the cosmetic oil-in-water emulsion, a plurality of water-in-oil emulsifiers, a base oil, an oil-in-water emulsifier, and a film-forming polymer. The base oil can have a wVTR of about 1.0 to 30 g/m2/hr and can be at a concentration of no more than about 15% by weight of the cosmetic oil-in water emulsion.
