Abstract: A policy-based system is implemented to allow access to a private domain to print using a public domain. The private domain includes private servers that store documents. The public domain includes servers and a printing device. A public policy server uses a domain list and a protocol connection with a private authentication server to validate a user and identify which private domain to access. The public policy server receives requests from the printing device to process a print job of a document in the private domain. The policy-based system also determines whether scanning operations for a document are allowed for a user at a scanning device. The private policy server determines policy values that are used to allow the scanning operations.

The public policy server retrieves a policy from a private policy server that configures the parameters for printing using the public domain. The print job data is provided to a public file server until the public policy server confirms that the print job can be sent to the printing device. The status of the document is set after the identification of potential confidential information so that it may not be printed in the public domain.

Abstract: A system, method, computer program product and apparatus provide an improvement to administration and management of security certificates in enterprise scale networks. An exemplary embodiment integrates a network device manager (NDM) with Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP) for administration and management of network equipment and for handling certificates for enterprise-scale implementation. The network device manager may control the settings and is configured to communicate with the firmware of end devices. The SCEP thus has a medium in the network device manager through which the SCEP features can be communicated to the end devices. In an exemplary embodiment, aspects of the system may for example, automatically check expiration of and renew certificates that are expiring.

Abstract: A facsimile apparatus uses IP addresses in facsimile communications. A communicating section receives image data sent from a communication partner apparatus via a facsimile transmission, based on an IP address of the communication partner apparatus and of the facsimile apparatus. A printing section prints the image data. An IP address registering section registers therein, in advance, an IP address of each of one or more communication partner apparatuses. An IP address obtaining section obtains the IP address of the communication partner apparatus. A printing rejection processing section judges whether the obtained IP address has already been registered. If the obtained IP address is determined as an unregistered IP address, the printing rejection processing section performs a printing rejecting process, and the printing rejection information storing section stores therein a specifying image and the unregistered IP address as printing rejection information. Abstract: Embodiments facilitate the management of security certificates for third-party services being used to print documents from kiosks in public locales. The system establishes a gateway connection between a cloud-based host server, the third-party service, and the kiosk. When a user wishes to use the third-party service to print a document requested through the kiosk, the host server obtains the security certificate and installs the certificate in the kiosk. The kiosk may then request the document from the third-party service which forwards the document upon authentication of the security certificate details registered in the kiosk.
