Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a job executing unit that executes a job based on an image; and a log image generating unit that generates a log image as a history of the image and stores the generated log image in a storage unit. If the job executed by the job executing unit does not involve external output from the image forming apparatus, the log image generating unit restricts a storage size of the log image for this job.
Abstract:
An image forming system includes a job execution unit and a log-image generating unit. The job execution unit is configured to execute a job. The log-image generating unit configured to generate a log image in the job. The log-image generating unit is configured to partially generate as the log image an image of a page output by the job execution unit among pages in the job.

Abstract:
An image forming system includes a login management unit, a job execution unit, a log management unit, and a mode accepting unit. The login management unit is configured to manage login of a user. The job execution unit is configured to execute a job after the user has logged in. The log management unit is configured to manage a job log of the job. The mode accepting unit is configured to accept a specification of a mode to store the job log. Acceptable modes where the mode accepting unit accepts a specification include a mode where the login management unit does not permit login if the log management unit determines that there is no free space to store the job log.
Abstract:
An image forming system includes a target-log-image extracting unit and a relevant-log-image extracting unit. The target-log-image extracting unit is configured to extract a log image as a target log image likely to have been generated by use for a specific purpose of an image forming apparatus when text information extracted from the log image of the image forming apparatus by optical character recognition includes a specific phrase. The relevant-log-image extracting unit is configured to extract a log image similar to the target log image as a relevant log image based on a specific feature of the target log image extracted by the target-log-image extracting unit.
Abstract:
A document processing device includes a storage circuit, an input circuit, an output circuit, and a control circuit. The storage circuit stores document data including at least one of character data and image data. The output circuit outputs the stored document data. The control circuit causes the output circuit to output the stored document data to evaluate the document data by at least one evaluator. The input circuit accepts location information and an evaluation result. The location information indicates a location of at least one evaluated part selected by the at least one evaluator who has evaluated the output document in the document data. The evaluation result is given to each of the evaluated parts. The storage circuit stores the location information and the evaluation result accepted by the input circuit. The control circuit extracts the evaluated part from the document data based on the stored location information.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a storage control portion, a setting control portion, and a deletion control portion. The storage control portion stores logs of jobs executed by the image processing apparatus into a storage portion. The setting control portion sets an importance level of each of the logs based on a plurality of target items and weight conditions, wherein the plurality of target items are set in advance with regard to the image processing apparatus, the jobs, or the logs, and the weight conditions are set in advance respectively in correspondence with the target items. The deletion control portion determines an order of automatic deletion of the logs stored in the storage portion, based on the importance level set by the setting control portion.
Abstract:
Provided is a document management system for managing document data by applying access restrictions to each metadata acquired by character recognition of document data to be managed. The mage forming apparatus acquires document data to be managed. The image-processing server performs character recognition of document data and acquires metadata. The image forming apparatus specifies metadata to be concealed in document data. The image forming apparatus receives a security setting, correlates a metadata name to be concealed with the security setting, and transmits the security setting together with document data to the image-processing server. The document-management server, in the case where there is an access request from a user for document data, allows access to the document data based on the security setting by not masking metadata for which there is access authority, and masking metadata for which there is no access authority.
Abstract:
A license management server manages a license to perform a service of remote maintenance related to one or more image forming apparatuses installed in a customer's site. The maintenance server includes a maintenance unit and a history management unit. If the license management server notified of expiration of an expiration date of the license defined by a contract, the maintenance unit stores history information acquired from the one or more image forming apparatuses corresponding to the expired license into a storage unit, and stops the service. If the license management server notified of grant of the license by a re-contract, the history management unit obtains the history information about the one or more image forming apparatuses corresponding to the granted license from the storage unit, and passes the obtained history information to the maintenance unit. By using the passed history information, the maintenance unit resumes the service.
Abstract:
A license management system includes an image forming apparatus and a license management server. The license management server includes a group management database, a license management database, a time zone information table, a group management unit, and a license management unit. The group management database stores information indicating an organization to which the license is assigned. The information relates to a group to which the image forming apparatus belongs. The license management database stores information on the license for the group. The time zone information table describes information on a working hour in a time zone where the group is present. When the one working hour ends, the license management unit that re-assigns the license from the group in the ended working hour to the group in another working hour based on the time zone information table, the license management database, and a current time.
