摘要: It is an exemplified object of the present invention to provide an image-forming device that can form a high-quality multicolor image at relatively low cost. To achieve the above object, the inventive image-forming device includes an endless belt that conveys a recordable medium; plural image-forming units that form a toner layer on the recordable medium via the endless belt; and a fixer that fixes the toner layer on the recordable medium, and a first pressing force applicable to the recordable medium by a last image-forming unit at a downstream side along a direction in which the recordable medium is conveyed among the plural image-forming units is greater than a second pressing force applicable to the recordable medium by another image-forming unit adjacent to the last image-forming unit at the downstream side among the plural image-forming units.

摘要: Disclosed are a method for the antimicrobial treatment of a fiber and a process for the production of an antimicrobial fiber, each of which is characterized by immersing the fiber in an aqueous solution containing a noble metal ion or a noble metal complex and irradiating the aqueous solution with γ-ray or electron beam. In the method for the antimicrobial treatment of a fiber and the process for the production of an antimicrobial fiber, the noble metal constituting the noble metal ion or the noble metal complex is at least one noble metal selected from the group consisting of gold, silver, platinum, palladium, ruthenium, rhodium, iridium and rhenium. Also disclosed is an antimicrobial fiber produced by the process.

摘要: In a computer system capable of being configured in a multiprocessor system, a plurality of virtual machines are grouped by object of use to define a plurality of processor groups. Each processor has an identifier for a processor group to which it belongs. When an instruction which requires synchronous execution among the processors is executed, the processor identifies the processor group to which it belongs and requests the synchronous execution of the instruction to only the processors in the group. In another aspect, each processor which has a request for execution refers to its own identifier to determine if the request is from a processor of the same group in order to determine whether it should execute the instruction or not. When the processor completes the execution of the instruction, it sends an end signal to the requesting processor so that another instruction from other processors in the same group can be executed.
