摘要: A hydraulic automatic tensioner for adjusting the tension of a bell includes a first member with a piston formed integrally, a second member combined with the first member and axially movable relative to the first member, a cylinder formed integrally with the second member, together defining a fluid-reservoir chamber for hydraulic fluid, axially slidably receiving the piston, and a spring pushing the members apart. The piston and cylinder form a pressure chamber filled with hydraulic fluid. The second member has a leak passage through which fluid flows from the pressure chamber into the fluid-reservoir chamber. A control valve is placed in the leak passage, inhibiting flow of fluid from the pressure chamber into the fluid-reservoir chamber. A control device moves the control valve to close the leak passage when activated and makes it ineffective when deactivated so that the pressure chamber communicates with the fluid-reservoir chamber via the leak passage.

摘要: A video and audio recording apparatus includes a recording medium that records base data therein and a control unit that starts and stops destructive editing in response to an instruction to start and stop destructive editing received through an operation unit. When part of the base data is deleted, the control unit writes, using management information for managing a physical area of the base data in the recording medium on the per predetermined recording unit basis, information indicating that the physical area in which the deleted part of the base data was recorded is defined as a reserved area on the per predetermined recording unit basis to the management information. When the edit data is input in response to the instruction to start editing, the edit data is overwritten into the physical area managed using the management information and defined as a reserved area on a preferential basis.

摘要: In an editing apparatus and an editing method where the editing operation is enhanced in easiness and accuracy, a marker RSM or GSM is detected by a fast access to a tape-shaped recording medium 1, material data read out according to the detection of the marker from the tape-shaped recording medium are registered onto a given file 125, then material data registered on the file 125 are displayed and an edit list of material data is made out using the displayed material data, so that the operation of making out an edit list can be simplified without making an access to material data of the tape-shaped recording medium 1.

摘要: In changing or otherwise handling sequential videotex codes composed of geometric codes representing individual image areas as respective geometric drawings and also characteristic codes representing attributes of the geometric drawings, the order of transmission of the geometric codes and characteristic codes is supervised on an order table and a characteristic code table is provided for supervising the characteristic codes, with correction or rearranging of the videotex code data being effected on these tables. In the case where the videotex codes are to represent an input color image, a histogram of the frequencies of occurrence of all colors represented by color data for each input color image is produced and a predetermined relatively small number n of colors having the highest frequencies of occurrence, either in the histogram as a whole, or in divisions of the histogram, are selected and each image area has assigned thereto color data representing the one of the n selected colors closest to the actual color of the image area in question.

摘要: A vehicle having an electrical system including an electric power generator arranged to selectively provide electric power to an electrical load of the vehicle and to selectively charge a battery of the vehicle. A fault detection system is provided for detecting an open circuit or high resistance fault in a ground circuit. The fault detection system includes a controller that controls a voltage output of the generator so as to either restrict or suspend charging or increase or start charging of the battery by the generator for a designated test period. A determining means determines a current discharge from or charging current into the battery during the test period, wherein if the determined current discharge or charging current is less than a given threshold, then an open circuit or high resistance fault is deemed to be detected in the ground circuit.

摘要: In an editing apparatus; overwriting data used for insertion editing on base data, which is segmented into each picture including data having a predetermined unit of data amount X, and includes variable-length encoded real data, is variable-length encoded; each picture is sequentially obtained as a target picture, and regarding the target picture, if an amount of the overwriting data is equal to X, the overwriting data is handled as insertion data as it is, otherwise, insertion data is created by adding stuffing data to the overwriting data so that the amount of the overwriting data can be equal to X; a filler having the same amount as a filler of the base data is added to the insertion data having the same total amount as the real data; and the resultant insertion data is added onto the base data.
