摘要： To provide a reading/printing apparatus and a reading apparatus by which the facility with which each unit is assembled and maintained can be significantly improved because steps of fixing and connecting individual units need not be performed in order, a printing apparatus, a control board, and a power supply are disposed inside a housing obtained by integrally forming a base portion serving as a bottom surface, side walls serving as outer side surfaces, and an opening surrounded by the side walls. The reading apparatus, the printing apparatus, the control board, and the power supply are discretely constituted. The housing includes a first housing integrally formed with enough strength to separately fix the base portion, lower portions of the side walls, the reading apparatus, the printing apparatus, the control board, and the power supply, and a second housing covering the opening and integrally forming upper portions of the side walls. The second housing is fixed to the first housing by elastic deformation so as to cover the opening of the first housing.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus has a recording mode in which recording is performed by selectively discharging black ink and color inks of colors other than black. Any abnormality in the state of discharge of the ink is performed by executing a test discharging operation. When the recording apparatus functions as a facsimile apparatus, the test discharging operation is conducted by discharging only the black ink, without discharging inks of other colors. Wasteful consumption of ink is diminished, so that the running cost of the ink jet recording apparatus is reduced.

摘要： An ink jet recording system for performing recording by scanning a carriage having an ink jet recording cartridge, at least a part of which is removably mounted to said carriage, scans a carriage along a path that has a waiting position wherein access to the cartridge is inhibited and has a replacement position wherein the removably mounted part of the cartridge can be easily accessed, and in response to a cartridge replacement signal, moves the carriage to the replacement position. When the cartridge has been replaced, the carriage is returned to the waiting position.

摘要： A sheet feeding apparatus has a support for supporting sheets, a feed roller disposed at a downstream side of the supported sheets and adapted to feed out the sheet by rotating while contacting with the sheet, and a separation roller disposed at a downstream side of the sheet supporting device in the sheet feeding direction and in a confronting relation to the sheet feed device. A slip device generates slip between the feed roller and the sheet within a predetermined range when the feed roller starts to rotate, thereby preventing the feeding of the sheet and rotating the separation roller in the sheet feeding direction.

摘要： In a recording apparatus, an ink sheet and recording medium are conveyed, the ink sheet is activated to perform image recording on the recording medium, the conveying state of the ink sheet is detected, and the conveying amount of the ink sheet is adjusted in accordance with the detected information regarding the conveying state of the ink sheet. This adjustment prevents the adhesion of the recording medium and ink sheet, thereby eliminating image omissions and density irregularities in the recording. Preventing adhesion of the recording medium and ink sheet results in improved image recording quality, and also helps to reduce trouble resulting from the ink sheet or recording medium being cut off.
