摘要： A fixing device includes a fixing unit and a switching unit. The fixing unit includes an emitting unit that emits light and a housing that houses the emitting unit. The fixing unit fixes a toner image to a recording medium by emitting the light to a surface of the recording medium, the recording medium having the toner image formed thereon and having been transported to a predetermined fixing position that is away from the housing. The switching unit switches a state of the fixing device from a first state in which the housing and the recording medium are positioned away from each other to a second state in which the surface of the recording medium at the fixing position is sealed with the housing.

摘要： A fixing device includes a laser light source that irradiates an irradiation region with a laser light, the irradiation region extending along a direction crossing a transporting direction of a recording medium with respect to a heating-fixable image which is on the recording medium. The fixing device further includes; a reflective member that is provided to enclose the irradiation region and includes a reflective surface reflecting a reflected light so that the irradiation region is re-irradiated with the reflected light from the irradiation region by the laser light radiated from the laser light source; and a light absorption member that is provided so as to continue to an end of a side of the reflective member directed to the recording medium and includes a portion facing a transporting surface of the recording medium and extending toward an outside of the reflective member, and is capable of absorbing the laser light.

The laser beam generating device generates laser beams and irradiates a recording medium transported with the laser beams. The airflow generating unit generates airflow flowing between the laser beam generating device and the recording medium. A flow speed of the airflow in a transport direction of the recording medium in an irradiation position of the laser beams is higher than a transport speed of the recording medium.

摘要： The second harmonic wave of a solid laser light which is emitted from a second harmonic wave light source is divided into a plurality of laser beams by a diffraction grating. The divided laser beams are converged on a record carrier into a plurality of light spots by an optical head. Magnetic field generating coils for applying magnetic fields to the respective light spots in accordance with the recording signals from a signal line are disposed under the record carrier. Part of the solid laser light is reflected and input to a beam splitter. Since part of the light input to the beam splitter is taken out, a stabilizer controls the output of the solid laser light from the second harmonic wave light source, parallel recording/reproduction using the plurality of light spots which are arranged on the record carrier is enabled and the formation of the plurality of light spots is effectively controlled. Thus, a magneto-optical recording and reproducing apparatus which is capable of high-density recording and high-speed data transfer, which supplies a stable and accurate optical output, and which facilitates the control of the optical output is provided.
