Also provided are constructs comprising coding sequences for the binding proteins, plants transformed therewith and methods of use thereof. The invention allows the modification of plant signaling by N-acylethanolamines. Such modification may be used to produce plants that are improved with respect to growth, seed germination, pathogen response and stress tolerance.
