It is an object of the present invention to provide a multi-piece rim which does not need much labor for supporting, and does not increase the number of components to be managed and the number of needed tasks.The present invention constructs a lock ring (40) to be fitted in the groove (11a) of a gutter band (11), which ring is divided in a plurality of portions (41, 42) being coupled at each end (41a, 42a) thereof by a flexible coupling member (43) . Alternatively, a lock ring (140) is formed into a substantially C-shape being manufactured by cutting a part of a circular ring, and comprises a first portion (141) wherein a length of a chord at the cut portion is substantially equal to the diametral of a hub, and a second portion (142) having a shape corresponding to the cut portion of a circular ring in the first portion.

A roof is split into plural parts, a front roof and a rear roof. A roof-storage space is formed between a passenger's seat and a rear bulkhead which forms a rear end of a vehicle compartment, in which the roof is stored when the roof is open. There is provided a support mechanism which substantially horizontally supports the roof which is stored in the roof-storage space so that an upper space of the roof-storage space between the passenger's seat and the bulkhead is covered with only one of the plural parts of the roof.

Disclosed is a rear-seat occupant protection apparatus, which is designed to protect, during a frontal collision of a vehicle, a rear-seat occupant (B) seated in a rear seat (5) located behind a front seat (3) equipped with a seat belt (7) having a load limiter function. The rear-seat occupant protection apparatus comprises a collision detection device (25) adapted to detect the frontal collision of the vehicle, and a seat-back displacing mechanism adapted, when the frontal collision of the vehicle is detected by the collision detection device, to permit a seat back (12) of the front seat (3) to be displaced frontwardly at a given timing consecutive with a frontward displacement of a front-seat occupant (A) seated in the front seat (3). The rear-seat occupant protection apparatus of the present invention can adequately protect a head of the rear-seat occupant during the frontal collision of the vehicle.

A backlight device includes a first substrate, and an LED thin-film layered structure (epitaxially grown inorganic material layers) fixed to a surface of the first substrate. An anode electrode and a cathode electrode are formed on the LED thin-film layered structure. An anode driver IC and a cathode driver IC are provided for driving the LED thin-film layered structure. A wiring structure electrically connects the anode driver IC and the anode electrode of the LED thin-film layered structure, and electrically connects the cathode driver IC and the cathode electrode of the LED thin-film layered structure. A second substrate has an optical transparency and is disposed to face the surface of the first substrate on which the LED thin-film layered structure is formed. A phosphor is formed on a surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate and is disposed on a position corresponding to the LED thin-film layered structure.

The first driver element selectively drives the rows. The second driver element selectively drives the columns. A signal recording/reproducing apparatus includes a first power source unit which generates necessary electric power signals from a commercial power source, a second power source unit which generates a necessary electric power signal from a battery, a recording signal processing unit, and a reproduced signal processing unit. The apparatus further includes time measuring instrument which is supplied with the electric power from the second power source unit, and a charging unit which charges the battery with the electric charges. Whenever the time measuring instrument measures a predetermined time, the generation of the electric power signals from the first power source unit is started, and the battery is charged with the electric charges by the charging unit.

Disclosed is a small-sized joint for joining hydrogen gas running route-forming members, which can surely prevent the leakage of hydrogen gas, and a portable hydrogen flame ionization gas detector that can prevent the leakage of hydrogen gas to achieve high safety. The joint comprises a metallic base having an internal space at least one end of which is opened, and a ring-like sealing member composed of an elastic material and arranged at opening edge of the metallic base, wherein a hydrogen gas running route-forming member is fixed in a state inserted into an internal space of the metallic base through the sealing member, and the sealing member is squeezed to gastightly seal the space, whereby one hydrogen gas running route-forming member is removably joined. In the gas detector, the joint is used to form a hydrogen gas running route.
