The method includes a recording step of effecting the recording selectively in a first recording mode in which no margin is provided at least one end portion of the recording material and a second recording mode in which margins are provided at all of the end portions of the recording material. A recording condition in the first recording mode and a recording condition in the second recording mode are different.

    摘要: Image data, or RGB luminance data input from a host computer, is color-converted by LUT into 8-bit CMYK density data for each ink color. The CMYK density data is divided into predetermined regions and, based on a gray scale value for each of the divided regions, ink application volumes are calculated. According to the calculated ink application volumes, the 8-bit processing liquid application data S is generated. Then, the CMYK density data and the processing liquid application data undergo output gamma processing, after which they are quantized by a quantization processing unit into 1-bit ejection data for each nozzle.

    摘要: There is disclosed an image processing apparatus which applies an adjusting process to an image that includes a pixel to be processed. The image processing apparatus extracts an image area with a predetermined size including the pixel to be processed. The apparatus calculates a variation associated with the pixel to be processed from signal values of pixels included in the image area. The apparatus calculates a variation time count in the image area from the signal values of the pixels included in the image area. The apparatus calculates adjusting levels Fz1, Fz2, and Fe from the variation time count and the variation using a definition unit which defines correspondence among the variation time count, the variation, and the adjusting levels, and applies an adjusting process to a signal value of the pixel to be processed by the calculated adjusting levels. Note that the definition unit defines the correspondence so that the adjusting levels Fz1, Fz2, and Fe progressively change in accordance with different variation time counts or different variations.

Density transformation corresponds to linear gamma correction, and cannot correct any color fog and the like of a photo image. Hence, lightness/color difference information of halftone image data is acquired on the basis of low-frequency components of frequency data obtained by transforming halftone image data into spatial frequency components, and a lightness/color difference transform amount of the halftone image data is set on the basis of the acquired lightness/color difference information.

    摘要: An image processing apparatus to perform an edge intensifying processing of an image includes an obtaining unit, a calculating unit, a setting unit, and a processing unit. The obtaining unit obtains image data composed of pixels aligned in a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction. The calculating unit obtains an edge direction of an image and a variation amount indicating a magnitude of change in a luminance value. The setting unit sets an intensity of the edge intensifying processing. The processing unit performs the edge intensifying processing. In a case where the image data resolution in the sub-scanning direction is higher than in the main scanning direction, the setting unit sets the intensity of the edge intensifying processing to an amount that is higher when the edge direction is the sub-scanning direction than when the edge direction is the main scanning direction.
