Abstract: A battery may include: a tap or a current collector plate welded to a current collector of an electrode assembly in which the current collector and a separator are wound or stacked; and a can housing or electrode lead welded to the tap or current collector plate. A method for inspecting a welding state of a battery may include: measuring a first impedance by applying, prior to injecting an electrolyte into the battery, an alternating current or an alternating voltage at a frequency band; preparing a first Cole-Cole plot based on the first impedance; and determining the welding state of the battery based on an x-intercept value on the first Cole-Cole plot. A method for manufacturing a battery is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present technology relates to a method of inspecting a welding defect. The method includes: manufacturing an electrode assembly sample by welding an electrode lead on an electrode tab formed on an electrode assembly; measuring a tensile strength, a torsional strength and a peeling strength of a welded portion between the electrode tab and the electrode lead for the electrode assembly sample; deriving correlation between whether there is a welding defect and each of the tensile strength, the torsional strength, and the peeling strength; and deriving a reference value for determining whether there is a welding defect for the tensile strength, the torsional strength, and the peeling strength, respectively.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a unit cell having a negative electrode, a separator, and a positive electrode are stacked and placed between guide rollers. One of the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The separator is coated with a binder, and the separator is dipped in a solvent to soften a cured binder before the separator is put between the guide rollers. An apparatus for manufacturing a unit cell includes a reservoir in which at least two or more transfer rollers that rotate while the separator passes therethrough are mounted, and a solvent is stored at a predetermined level; and a chamber into which the separator passing through a reservoir is put together with the positive electrode and the negative electrode. Guide rollers are disposed so that the negative electrode and the positive electrode move to both surfaces of the separator, respectively.

Abstract: A device for inspecting a welded state of a plurality of welded portions coupling a non-coating portion of an electrode to an electrode tab includes a resistance measurer having a plurality of resistance measurement probes which respectively measure resistance values of the plurality of welded portions; and a resistance inspector which compares each of the resistance values of the plurality of welded portions, with a critical resistance value. When the resistance value of at least one welded portion among the plurality of welded portions exceeds the critical resistance value, the at least one welded portion is determined as having a weak welding. The plurality of resistance measurement probes respectively measure the resistance values of the plurality of welded portions while being respectively in contact with a non-welding surface disposed between the plurality of welded portions and non-welding surfaces outside outermost welded portions of the plurality of welded portions.

Abstract: A method for inspecting a welding defect of the present invention includes: a threshold resistance setting step (S100) of measuring a resistance of a welded portion of a sample group and deriving a threshold resistance value which becomes an evaluation standard of a weak welding; a resistance measuring step (S200) of measuring a resistance value of a welded portion to be inspected; and a step (S300) of determining as a weak welding if the resistance value measured in the resistance measuring step exceeds the threshold resistance value, wherein the threshold resistance setting step (S100) and the resistance measuring step (S200) include measuring a resistance using a microresistance measuring instrument having a resolution of nanoohm to microohm units.
The welding defect inspection method of the present invention shows excellent detection power for the welding defect by a weak welding.

Abstract: Discussed are an apparatus for manufacturing an electrode assembly, an electrode manufactured therethrough, and a secondary battery.
