摘要: A method and a system for x-ray treatment of, for example, cancer or restenosis prevention inside a living body is disclosed. A miniature x-ray tube (1) is provided with at least one pair of electrodes (6, 8), the electrodes alternatingly serving as anode and cathode, respectively. A power supply (13) is connected to the electrodes, and a switching unit of the power supply alternates the electrical potential across the electrodes. With the x-ray tube according to the invention the temperature increase at the site of treatment is limited, thereby providing an effective treatment without unduly prolonged treatment duration.

摘要: The invention relates to a sensor/guide wire device for biological pressure measurements having a guide wire (16, 17, 18, 21, 23) having a distal and a proximal end, and a pressure sensor device (19) mounted at the distal end of the guide wire. The distal portion can be a solid wire member (16) surrounded by a spiral member (18), and the sensor (19) can be an electrical sensor of a piezoresistive type. The sensor (19) is mounted on the solid wire (16). The sensor is mounted in a cantilevering fashion such that a pressure sensitive end of the sensor does not contact any structure other than its mount. This prevents forces (bending artifacts) from being exerted on the sensor, which could otherwise interfere with pressure measurements.

摘要: A guide wire for measuring physiological characteristics inside a body includes a sensor (14) for monitoring the physical variable and for forming an output signal characteristic for the value of the physical variable. The sensor is connected to a first electrical potential of an electronic unit (22) via an electrical wire (11) extending along the guide wire. An internal body electrode (17) is connected to the sensor (14) and is in contact with body fluids surrounding the sensor circuit. The guide wire (10) is inserted into a vessel of the body (25), and a second electrode (21) is applied near the internal body electrode, and the sensor circuit is powered by a second potential of the electronic unit (22) via a part of the body.
