    摘要: A connector for electrically connecting sets of spaced electrical conductors is made by assembling, alternately in parallel relationship, sheets of electrically conductive material and sheets of electrically non-conductive material into a block structure, slicing from the block, in a plane perpendicular to the planes of the sheets, a plurality of slabs, each slab containing, alternately, elongated elements of electrically conductive material and elongated elements of electrically non-conductive material, assembling, alternately in parallel relationship, sheets of electrically non-conductive material and said slabs of elongated elements into a second block structure, and slitting from the second block, in a plane to which the elongated elements of electrically conductive material are essentially normal, a connector element.

    摘要: A multi-conductor probe, having a probe end adapted to contact a body to be probed, consists of a first element of electrically insulative elastomer and a plurality of elements of electrically conductive elastomer contiguously bonded to the first element such that each of the electrically conductive elements is insulated from any other of the electrically conductive elements. Each of the electrically conductive elements is electrically connectable to an external electrical test means at a point remote from the probe end. The electrically insulative element and the electrically conductive elements are substantially coterminous at the probe end.

    摘要: An electrical interconnect includes a woven mesh in which an array of parallel wires is retained in spaced relation by a transverse array of nonconducting strands, the mesh being enclosed or encased within a resilient matrix. The conductive wires are on a close pitch to yield greater current carrying capacity and achieve a lower more stable resistance. With this construction a great number of wires are in contact with each contact pad to yield greater current carrying capacity and corresponding lower resistance. The closer pitch wires also provide greater redundancy of contact points. This structure can be custom configured in as many layers or in a variety of shapes as is desirable to achieve a given electrical performance. The woven mesh can be wrapped around a shaped substrate to provide electrical connections in a desired shape. The woven mesh interconnect can be integrated as part of a boot, wherein the boot receives an electrical device therein and the woven mesh interconnect provides electrical connection from the device within the boot to outside the boot. The woven mesh interconnect can be layered and shaped to form an interconnect which not only provides electrical interconnection but also provides a biasing force due to the shape of the device.

    摘要: A self-mounted chip carrier having a surface which contains the integrated circuit. This surface has a contact pad metallized area for contacting the integrated circuit. The self-mounted chip carrier is secured to a mating surface and aligned so that the pads on the chip carrier are aligned with the matching pads on a substrate for mating with the self-mounted chip carrier. Registration holes serve as a means for aligning the chip carrier. A compliant connector made of an elastomeric material is positioned between the chip carrier and the substrate to provide electrical connection. A lid is provided to serve as a deflection stop.
