    摘要: A highly reliable monolithic ceramic capacitor which has no structural defect, e.g. peeling, and which is not susceptible to water from the outside and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. A lead portion of an internal electrode is configured to have a shape provided with a taper-shaped portion in which the width gradually decreases with increasing proximity to the end surface of a ceramic element, and the shape of the end portion opposite to the lead portion of the internal electrode is adjusted to be substantially rectangular. Regarding a pair of internal electrodes facing each other with the ceramic layer therebetween, the internal electrodes are laminated while the positions thereof are displaced with respect to each other in order that a corner portion in the substantially rectangular portion of one internal electrode are located in the vicinity of, but outside the taper-shaped portion of the other internal electrode.

    摘要: A complex oxide ceramic sintered body has a perovskite-type crystal structure and is represented by a general formula: (La1-xSrx)a(Cr1-y-zAlyCoz)bO3, where x+z≧0.06; z≧0.02; x+y+3z≦0.25; 2x+3y+5z≧0.40; x+y≧0.12; and 1.00≦b/a≦1.04. The sintered body has a relative density of about 94% or more and the bending strength of about 15 kgf/mm2 or more both at room temperature and at room temperature after the sintered compact is treated for 24 hours in an atmosphere of humidified hydrogen having an oxygen partial pressure of 10−18 atm at 1,000° C. The sintered body further has a lattice volumetric expansion coefficient of about 0.3% or less at room temperature after treated for 24 hours in an atmosphere of humidified hydrogen having an oxygen partial pressure of 10−18 atm at 1,000° C., an average thermal expansion coefficient in a range of about 9.8 to 11.0×10−6 K−1 at 30 to 1,000° C., and a phase transition temperature, from a rhombic system to a rhombohedral system, of about −20° C. or less.

    摘要: A solid oxide fuel cell which has a fuel electrode and an air electrode respectively on a first surface and on a second surface of a solid electrolyte. The interface between the solid electrolyte and the fuel electrode, and the interface between the solid electrolyte and the air electrode are roughened. An exemplary way of roughening the interfaces is as follows: a green sheet of solid electrolyte, a green sheet of fuel electrode and a green sheet of air electrode are laminated with the green sheet of electrolyte in the middle; sandpaper is put on each of the green sheet of fuel electrode and the green sheet of air electrode with a plastic film in-between in such a manner that the rough surfaces of the sandpaper face the green sheets of electrode; the laminate of green sheets is press-fixed, whereby the rough surfaces of the sandpaper roughen the interfaces; and the sandpaper and the plastic films are removed.

    摘要: A memberane sensitive to anions is obtained by forming into a membrane either a composition comprising an onium salt compound such as trioctylmethylammonium chloride or tetraoctylammonium bromide, and an aromatic boric diester compound such as (p-alkyloxy)phenyl borate, or a composition which comprises these two ingredients and a membrane-forming polymer such as polyvinyl chloride or polystyrene, and may further contain a fat-soluble anion salt such as tetraphenyl borate. This membrane can yield an ion-selective electrode which permits hydrogencarbonate ions contained in body fluids to be rapidly determined with high sensitivity and high selectivity and which has a long life.

    摘要: A monolithic type varistor in which a plurality of inner electrodes are arranged in a sintered body composed of semiconductor ceramics so as to be overlapped with each other while being separated by semiconductor ceramic layers. The plurality of inner electrodes are electrically connected to first and second outer electrodes formed on both end surfaces of the sintered body. One or more non-connected type inner electrodes are arranged between adjacent ones of the plurality of inner electrodes and are not electrically connected to the outer electrodes, each of the non-connected type inner electrodes being spaced apart from each adjacent inner electrode or non-connected type inner electrode while being separated therefrom by a semiconductor ceramic layer. Voltage non-linearity is obtained by Schottky barriers formed at the interface of the inner electrode and the semiconductor ceramic layer and the interface of the non-connected type inner electrode and the semiconductor ceramic layer. The value of the number of grain boundaries between semiconductor particles in at least one semiconductor ceramic layer is two or less.
