Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a first rotator by which one surface of a paper is subjected to image transferring, image fixing, or other processings, a second rotator which presses the paper against the first rotator from the other surface of the paper, a space changing unit which changes a space between axial cores of the first rotator and the second rotator, a feeding unit which feeds the paper between the first rotator and the second rotator, and a control unit which adjusts a driving timing of the space changing unit in accordance with the driving of the feeding unit, wherein when the paper is thinner than a set value, the control unit makes the paper enter between both the rotators in a state where the second rotator is pressed against the first rotator, and when the paper is equal to or thicker than the set value, the control unit controls to press the second rotator against the first rotator at a timing where a distal end of the paper passes through between both the rotators.
Abstract:
Provided is an image data transmitter in which, in the event of transmission of the same image data to multiple recipients, the image data with added supplementary information different for each of the multiple recipients can be transmitted through easy operation. Further provided is an image data communication system using the image data transmitter. An image of a document is read out, and a destination of the image is set. Multiple destinations can be set. Then, selection is performed whether or not to input supplementary information. When performing input processing, a destination to which the supplementary information is to be transmitted is selected from the multiple destinations. Subsequently, the supplementary information for the destination is input, and the supplementary information is correlated with the destination. Additionally, the image data and the supplementary information are combined. Then, composite data for the destination is transmitted to the destination.
Abstract:
The image forming apparatus includes: an image former which, upon receiving a first instruction, feeds a sheet and performs an image forming operation to form an image on the sheet; a fixing part which (i) secures a fixing nip by bringing outer circumferential surfaces of first and second rotating bodies into contact with each other, (ii) upon receiving a second instruction, heats the first and second rotating bodies until a temperature thereof reaches a target temperature, and (iii) thermally fixes the image onto the sheet passing through the fixing nip; and a determiner which determines output timings of the first and second instructions such that a timing at which a leading end, in a sheet convey direction, of the image formed on the sheet reaches the fixing nip and a timing at which the temperature of the first and second rotating bodies reaches the target temperature match each other.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image creation device loaded in the image forming apparatus in a replaceable manner, an openable and closable cover to be opened and closed when the image creation device is to be replaced with a new one, a new/old discrimination portion that discriminates whether the image creation device is new or old, an image stabilization processing portion that executes image stabilization processing for old image creation devices to maintain image quality with respect to old image creation devices and executes image stabilization processing for brand-new image creation devices including a part of the image stabilization processing for old image creation devices as common-processing to maintain image quality with respect to brand-new image creation devices, and a controller. The controller makes the new/old discrimination portion initiate new/old discrimination processing at the time of turning on power supply and/or closing the openable and closable cover, makes the image stabilization processing initiate common-processing common to image stabilization processing for old image creation devices and that for brand-new image creation devices, and makes the image stabilization processing initiate image stabilization processing peculiar to brand-new image creation devices or old image creation devices depending on a discrimination result of the new/old discrimination portion after completion of the common-processing.

Abstract:
A copying machine with a charging device that can substantially improve the advertisement effect in case of printing by adding an additional image to a document image. This copying machine, when the set registered number is plural, changes the kind of advertisement images to be printed every time a document is exchanged. It also changes the kind of advertisement images depending on whether or not a copying mode is a color copy. In particular, if it is the color copy, the above-mentioned changeover is done in accordance with a function mode and/or a document mode, which are detail modes of the color copy. This copying machine also displays a plurality of printable selection candidates from a plurality of advertisement images stored in advance and makes a user on his/her own select an advertisement image to be printed. In this case, a selection condition of the advertisement image by the user (kind or order of the selection candidates to be displayed, or number of selectable advertisement images, for example) is changed in accordance with an environment when the user copies the document (copying mode, current time, or installation location, for example).
Abstract:
A multiple color image forming apparatus, wherein colors or kinds of copying paper contained in paper feed cassettes as well as colors of developers contained in a plurality of developing devices are detected to prevent image forming, which is indistinguishable due to mismatching between the color or kind of copying paper and the color of developer, and the developing device containing the developer of suitable color for the color or kind of copying paper is automatically selected in response to the detected result of the color or kind of copying paper and the color of developer to prevent misforming of the image and to improve the operation easiness.
Abstract:
An image duplicating apparatus having an ordinary copy mode and multiple editing modes of copying operation is provided. Editing information can be inserted directly from a control panel having a display screen or from an external editor. In operation, the last mode of editing which is selected will predominate and will determine the particular editing of the information.
Abstract:
A copying machine including a specifying unit movable along the document support for specifying a particular point and operable to divide an area of the document support into a first area, delimited between the exposure start position to the particular point, and a second area delimited between the particular point and the exposure terminating position; a first developing unit with a mass of developing material of first color therein and operable to develop an electrostatic latent image into a visible powder image, a second developing unit with a mass of developing material of second color therein and operable to develop the electrostatic latent image into a visible powder image, and an erasing unit for erasing the electrostatic latent image before the electrostatic latent image is developed by one of the first and second developing unit; a mode specifying unit for specifying relative to the first and second areas one of a first mode in which the electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive medium is developed into the visible powder image of first color with the use of the first developing unit, a second mode in which the electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive medium is developed into the visible powder image of second color with the use of the second developing unit, and a third mode in which the electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive medium is erased with the use of the erasing unit.
Abstract:
A copying machine with an ADF has a "two-in-one mode" which is a function to copy images of two sheets of a document set side by side on the platen on a surface of a copy paper with a single scanning process. As document sheets are stored on the document tray facing down, the last page of the document is copied first and the first page of the document is copied last. In the case that odd numbers of document sheets are copied, a blank page interrupts between page 1 and page 2 when the copied papers are bound into a book. This invention provides a copying machine by which a user can select the position of the copied image of the first page or the last sheet of a document on a copy paper.
