摘要： An electronic air cleaner having therein an electrostatic precipitator, an ultraviolet lamp, a deodorizing filter and at least one lead wire which extends along the deodorizing filter from an electric power source to a socket of the ultraviolet lamp. A channel-shaped holder receives in the channel thereof a lower section of a frame of the deodorizing filter so as to form in the channel an enclosed space through which the lead wire passes. At least the wall portions bounding the enclosed space are constructed of electrically conductive material and are grounded so that any noise wave emitted from the lead wire positioned within the enclosed space is prevented from leaking out by the shielding function of the conductive wall portions.

摘要： An ignition distributor is disclosed which comprises an input terminal, output terminals, a rotor adapted to rotate with rotation of an engine and provided at its one end with a magnet, a first electrode facing the rotor and coupled to the input terminal, a piezo-conductive plate placed on the surface of the first electrode opposite to the rotor, second electrodes formed of magnetic material and connected to the output terminals, respectively, and the second electrodes circumferentially arranged on the piezo-conductive plate. When the rotor rotates to bring the magnet below one of the second electrodes, the one second electrode is attracted to exert a pressure on the piezo-conductive plate so as to render it conductive thereby establishing an electrical connection between the input terminal and the output terminal connected to the one second electrode.

摘要： A plasma ignition system for an engine having any number of engine cylinders, which comprises: (A) a plurality of plasma ignition plugs each mounted within a corresponding engine cylinder; (B) a first power supply unit for supplying a first electric power into each plasma ignition plug so as to generate a spark discharge within each plasma ignition plug; (C) a first switching circuit for sequentially connecting the first power supply unit to each plasma ignition plug according to a predetermined ignition order; (D) a second power supply unit for supplying a second electric power into each plasma ignition plug so as to generate a high-temperature plasma gas within each plasma ignition plug; and (E) a second switching circuit for sequentially connecting two of the plasma ignition plugs within the respective engine cylinders, one engine cylinder being at the start of an explosion stroke and the other engine cylinder being at almost end of an exhaust stroke, in a predetermined delay after the occurrence of the spark discharge at the corresponding plasma ignition plug when the engine speed is below a predetermined value, so that the number of high-voltage withstanding characteristic capacitors and switching elements (thyristors) of the switching circuits can be reduced half that of engine cylinders and the power consumption of these first and second power supply units can be saved remarkably particularly when the engine speed exceeds the predetermined value, e.g., 3000 r.p.m.

摘要： A plasma jet ignition plug comprises an electric insulator formed with a discharge cavity and a plurality of electrodes communicating with the discharge cavity to form, within the discharge cavity, a spark gap. The plurality of electrodes include a central electrode connected to a high voltage electric source and a low voltage electric source, and a peripheral electrode which is grounded. The peripheral electrode substantially closes the discharge cavity and is formed with a jet opening. At least that part of at least one of the plurality of electrodes which communicates with the discharge cavity is made of a material selected from a group consisting of ferrite, a nickel alloy containing at least one of silicon, aluminum and magnesium, and electrically conductive ceramic.
