    摘要: A shoulder prosthesis includes a vault-filling component defining a bearing-facing surface and having a first coupling component, the vault-filling component including (i) a vault-filling first portion defining a first part of the bearing-facing surface, and (ii) a projecting second portion projecting from the vault-filling first portion so as to define a second part of the bearing-facing surface. The vault-filling first portion and the projecting second portion define a bone space therebetween. The shoulder prosthesis further includes a bearing component defining a bearing surface and having a second coupling component configured to cooperate with the first coupling component to couple the bearing component to the vault-filling component. At least one bone attachment member positioned in the bone space. The projecting second portion of the vault-filling component further defines a scapula-facing surface. The vault-filling first portion of the vault-filling component further defines (i) a first lateral surface extending from the scapula-facing surface, and (ii) a second lateral surface extending from the first part of the bearing-facing surface. The first lateral surface and the second lateral surface taper towards each other in a direction extending away from the bearing-facing surface.

    摘要: A shoulder prosthesis includes a metaglene component that has (i) a base with a bearing-facing side, a scapula-facing side, and an external coupling surface interposed therebetween, (ii) an augment attached to the scapula-facing side of the base, and (iii) a post attached to at least one of the base and the augment. The metaglene component has defined therein a passage extending through at least both the base and the post. The metaglene component further having a plurality of fastener holes defined in the base. The shoulder prosthesis further includes a bearing component defining a cavity and including a bearing surface, the cavity defining an internal coupling surface, and the bearing-facing side of the metaglene component being located within the cavity so that the external coupling surface of the base is positioned in contact with the internal coupling surface of the bearing component to form a friction fit connection between the bearing component and the metaglene component. The shoulder prosthesis also includes a plurality of fasteners configured to respectively extend through the plurality of fastener holes defined in the base.

    摘要: Reciprocating rasps for the surgical preparation of the bone prior to the implantation of a glenoid or acetabular component with complex geometry are disclosed. Surgical methods for the use of such reciprocating rasps are also disclosed. A reciprocating rasp for use in the surgical preparation of a glenoid includes a shaft having a first end configured to be secured in a chuck of a reciprocating tool, and a cutting head secured to a second end of the shaft. The cutting head includes a cutting surface having a plurality of cutting teeth arranged in a geometry that corresponds with a geometry of the glenoid prosthesis, and an inwardly curved concave guide surface that is devoid of cutting teeth and configured to receive a guide pin inserted in the glenoid of the patient when the cutting head is secured to the second end of the shaft.
