摘要： A lamp assembly 10 has a light source 12 having two sealed electrodes 14, 16, sealed in a seal area 17 and defining a lamp axis 18. A concave shell 20 has an internal surface 22 with a reflective surface 23 formed thereon. The concave shell 20 has a neck 24 defining a neck cavity 26 and a reflector axis 28. The neck 24 is provided with an electrical connection 30 and a mechanical support for the light source 12. The shell 20 surrounds the source 12 to reflect light from the source 12 to a field to be illuminated during lamp operation. The source 12 and the reflector surface 23 are oriented with the lamp axis 18 substantially co-axial with the reflector axis 28, and at least a portion of at least one of the electrodes, for example, 14, extends into the neck cavity 26. A zone 32 is formed in the neck cavity 26 for substantially redirecting specular reflection away from the seal area.

The package is preferably made by a method of packaging a light bulb as described above wherein the method comprises the steps of: forming a hollow body (18) to receive the light bulb; separating the body (18) into a bottom portion (18a) and a top portion (18b); inserting a light bulb (12) into the bottom portion (18a); inverting the top portion (18b) and placing the top portion 918b) within the lower portion (18a) in a manner to grasp the socket end (16) of the light bulb (12); and sealing the top portion (18b_ to the bottom portion (18a) to form the package (10).

摘要： The lens of a reflector type lamp may be recessed into the body of the reflector housing by molding the reflector interior with a ledged or similar support for the lens. The lens may then be hidden in the reflector housing. Light emitted from the lamp is then directed to the field of view, while light emerging from the lens edge is shielded by an extended sidewall of the reflector. The resulting view of the lamp is a very even distribution of emitted light.

摘要： A PAR lamp may be formed with a highly domed lens. The domed lens enables increased beam spread to as much as 90 degrees from the lamp axis. This fills in the shadow gaps between adjacent lamps. The domed lens may also extend beyond the forward edge of a recessed fixture and thereby washing the adjacent walls with light instead of leaving shadowed regions intermediate adjacent fixtures.
