摘要: A fluorescent lamp includes a light-transmitting envelope, means for generating a discharge within envelope, a discharge sustaining fill contained in envelope for emitting ultraviolet rays during the lamp operation and a phosphor layer coated on an inner surface of envelope. The phosphor layer converts the ultraviolet rays into visible light and ultraviolet radiation within a wavelength range of 320 nm to 410 nm so as to have radiant flux ratio of ultraviolet radiation of 5 to 50 percent of the entire radiant flux of the lamp.

摘要: A translucent cover (9) is so provided as to cover a high pressure sodium lamp (11) adapted to radiate at least visible light and rays of light in the wavelength range of 300 nm to 400 nm. A photocatalytic film (13) which is capable of preventing generation of interference between visible light is formed on either one of or both the inner side and outer side of the translucent cover (9). The photocatalytic film (13) contains as the principal component titania (TiO2) of which the peak wavelength for visible light transmittance is nearly the same as the peak wavelength for visible light radiated from the high pressure sodium lamp (11). Ultraviolet light radiated from the high pressure sodium lamp (11) enhances oxidation and decomposition of substances performed by the photocatalytic film (13), thereby preventing grime and contaminants from adhering to the translucent cover (9). Even if the thickness of the photocatalytic film (13) is increased in order to make the photocatalytic function more effective, visible light radiated from the high pressure sodium lamp (11) effectively passes through the photocatalytic film (13) at the peak wavelength so that decrease in the illuminating efficiency is prevented.

摘要: An illuminating device that is improved in heat radiation property and is suppressed in the occurrence of peeling and warping of a reflector. The reflector having a housing portion that houses a light emitting diode element is disposed on a substrate a visible light converting layer is formed on the housing portion and a lens is disposed on the reflector. A circuit pattern, the light emitting diode element, the reflector, the visible light converting layer, and the lens are disposed on the substrate, and the reflector and the lens are respectively adhered using a same type of adhesive agent. The heat radiation property can thus be improved, the peeling and warping of the reflector, etc., is suppressed, and accordingly, the optical characteristics of the device can be maintained.

摘要: A light emitting device, with which the luminous efficiency is improved and the color non-uniformity of the emitted light is lessened. Specifically, a light emitting diode element is covered with a diffusing layer, with which a diffusing agent is added to a resin. A phosphor layer, with which a phosphor is added to a resin, is disposed on top of the diffusing layer. The light from the light emitting diode element is diffused by the diffusing layer. By exciting the phosphor layer with the light diffused by the diffusing layer and thereby making the phosphor layer emit light, the luminous efficiency is improved and the color non-uniformity is lessened.
