An equalization processing unit has a time domain equalization unit which equalizes a received signal in a time domain and a frequency domain equalization unit which is provided in parallel to the time domain equalization unit and which equalizes the received signal in a frequency domain, and performs control of switching between the time domain equalization unit and the frequency domain equalization unit. The present technique can be applied to, for example, equalize a signal of data transmitted by way of single carrier transmission or data transmitted by way of multicarrier transmission.
