Abstract: Provided is a simple, portable, real-time, and in vivo THz imaging device for imaging a target, e.g., a tooth in the subject. Moreover, the scanning based THz imaging device is much sufficiently sensitive as compared with the common X-ray imaging device. Therefore, the scanning based THz imaging device has the potential to operate in the density for early detection problems such as dental caries or demineralization of the enamel in the teeth. Also provided is a method for diagnosing or imaging the target in the subject by using the scanning based THz imaging device of the present disclosure.

Abstract: According to the present disclosure, a conductive polymer composite and a strain gauge are provided. The conductive polymer composite includes poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): polystyrene sulfonate and waterborne polyurethane, and the conductive polymer composite is homogeneous. The strain gauge includes a substrate and a strain sensitive layer. The substrate has a surface, and the strain sensitive layer is connected to the surface of the substrate. The strain sensitive layer is made of the aforementioned conductive polymer composite, and the strain sensitive layer has at least four separations arranged in a staggered way and forms bow-like structures, which makes the strain sensitive layer deform more in a first direction than a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

Abstract: An optical scanning device includes a substrate, two actuating members, a connecting member and a waveguide. The substrate includes two disposing portions and a connecting portion. The two disposing portions include two free ends and two fixed ends, and one of the two free ends is opposite to one of the two fixed ends. The connecting portion is connected to the two fixed ends of the two disposing portions. The two actuating members disposed side by side on the two disposing portions, respectively. The connecting member is connected to the two disposing portions. The waveguide is disposed between the two actuating members and penetrated through the connecting member. The two actuating members are actuated in a same dimension either in phase or out of phase simultaneously to drive the waveguide to vibrate linearly or nonlinear in two dimensions to generate a scan pattern.

Abstract: An augmented logarithmic spiral antenna structure includes a first conductive layer, a dielectric layer and a second conductive layer. The first conductive layer includes a first spiral arm and a plurality of second spiral arms. The first spiral arm includes a first initial radius. The second spiral arms are disposed around and connected to the first spiral arm, and each of the second spiral arms includes a second initial radius. The dielectric layer has a top surface and a bottom surface, and the top surface is connected to the first conductive layer. The second conductive layer is connected to the bottom surface. A plurality of the second initial radii of the second spiral arms are different from each other, and different from the first initial radius.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a terahertz (THz) transceiver including a triple-barrier resonant tunneling diode (TBRTD), a resonator antenna electrically connected to an emitter and a collector of the TBRTD, and a radiator antenna disposed over the resonator antenna and vertically aligned with the resonator antenna for reducing a system size. A corresponding method of fabricating the THz transceiver is also provided.
